Editor's Note Aviation Magazine 9th Edition/2020 In these difficult times we have to remain hopeful and strong. As the aviation industry, we have never faced such disruptions of this magnitude before. The first half of 2020 will go down in history as the worst period in aviation. Globally flights dropped to unprecedented levels with airports becoming empty and silent overnight. These were indeed stressful times. I read in shock the news globally of aviation giants fighting for survival, airports struggling to accommodate parked aircraft and people losing their jobs, their livelihoods. This I must say does not make for good reading. Like I said, we have to remain hopeful and strong. Every storm passes and so will this current storm pass. Certainly it will come to pass. We have put together a magazine that we have billed, Aviation Magazine; Resilient In the Storm. In this edition we look at how the industry has turned the pandemic into an opportunity to reboot and refocusing of the business. Trish Machiri dissected the influence of technology on the cargo market and how the cargo market has kept the world alive during this tough period. As you have seen on the cover, I was heartened to see Air Zimbabwe joining other airlines in deploying passenger jets perform lifesaving cargo charters as well as repatriation of Zimbabwe and other nationals from the Far East.
