The “Go Out & About Club” offers outings for older people who have mobility problems, people with disabilities (physical and/or sensory) and people who are isolated within the community who are unable to use public transport or do not have any independent means of travel. Membership of this Club is free.

How to book a trip

1. Join the Go Out & About Club - Just telephone or email one of our Co-ordinators to check eligibility and request a membership form. Membership forms are also available to download from our website www.gonorthdevon.co.uk 2. Call us 9.30am – 4.00pm, Monday to Friday to book your trip. Or email [email protected] Seats are allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. 3. Be ready to go. The Co-ordinator will give you the approximate pick-up time from your home before you travel. Please be ready for the volunteer driver to collect you and if you need to cancel, please ensure the office is notified as soon as possible. 4. Tell us what you need. If you are a wheelchair user (either transferable or non-transferable), have a walker or frame, please let us know when booking your trip. (Clients who remain in their wheelchairs for journeys will need to have them approved and tagged by County Council to be safely secured on a minibus). Tell us if you would like to bring a companion, or if you would like us to request a volunteer escort to assist you (subject to availability). If a volunteer escort is provided by GND to support you, then you will need to pay for the volunteer’s seat on the minibus. 5. Payments. All trips/outings must be pre-paid and are non-refundable and are non-transferable. (Cheques made payable to Go North Devon Ltd). If payment for the trip has not been received within 10 days of booking, your seat on the trip will be cancelled.

Rules of the Go Out & About Club

1. Go North Devon Ltd will administer the Go Out & About Club. 2. All passengers of the Go Out & About Club must complete and return a membership form. 3. Go North Devon Ltd will carry out fundraising activities from time to time to supplement the running costs of the Go Out & About Club. 4. All funds relating to Go Out & About Club will be held in Go North Devon’s accounts under “Go Out & About”. 5. All members of the Go Out & About Club will be kept informed of forthcoming trips. 6. Go Out & About Club will publish the cost of individual outings in advance. 7. Journeys will only operate if a minimum of 10 passengers have booked. Should this not be the case 10 days prior to date of journey the trip will be opened up to further pick-up points. 8. For each journey a flat Fare (excluding meals, refreshments & entry costs) will be charged (as published) which will be calculated by Go North Devon Ltd, regardless of the number of passengers travelling. 9. Go North Devon Ltd may from time to time vary the base costs. 10. Menus and facilities vary –if you have any specific dietary requirements please contact the venue direct. 11. Should you not be at the collection point for the return journey at the agreed time, then you will be expected to make your own way home. Return time cards are available from the driver. 12. We reserve the right to vary the programme on the day subject to operational requirements.
