Յուրաքանչյուր լեզվով անվանման ճիշտ ձևն ամրագրվում է` համադրելով մի քանի սկզբնաղբյուր։ 4. Հայերեն աշխարհագրական անվանումները պետք է տառադարձվեն այլ լեզուներով` հիմք ընդունելով տվյալ լեզվի արտահայտման առանձնահատկությունները, առավելագույնս մոտեցնելով դրանց գրելաձևերը հայերենի արտասանության հնչողությանը։ Առանձին դեպքերում ընդունված ավանդական գրելաձևերը հասցվել են նվազագույնի։ 5. Աշխարհագրական անվանումների տառադարձությունը, որպես կանոն, կատար- վում է հայերենի ժամանակակից գրելաձևից՝ հաստատված «Հայաստանի Հանրապետության վարչատարածքային բաժանման մասինե Հայաստանի Հանրապետության օրենքով և տերմի- 11_0220 2 նաբանական կոմիտեի 1956 թվականի սեպտեմբերի, 1958 թվականի փետրվարի և 1978 թվականի փետրվարի համապատասխան որոշումներով։ Հայերենի այն հնչյունները, որոնք չունեն ռուսերեն և անգլերեն համարժեքներ, տառադարձվում են հնարավորինս ավելի մոտ -

The U.S. Department of State has assessed Yerevan as being a LOW-threat location for crime directed at or affecting official U.S. government interests. Crime Threats Armenia is generally considered safe and relatively free of random acts of violent crime. The crime rate is lower in comparison to the U.S. and Europe. Crimes committed against Americans remain relatively infrequent. Most crime against Americans involves petty theft (pickpocketing, vehicle break-ins to steal objects left visible inside). Stairwells are seldom illuminated and can be an area for attack. Visitors should be cautious when entering buildings, as they can be dark and hazardous. The frequency of vandalism and vehicle theft has been low. Serious violent crimes can and do occur in Yerevan. Organized crime does exist; and though it occasionally takes on violent manifestations, it normally is score settling within or between organizations. -

Project NOVA
Project NOVA Introduction Project NOVA is a five-year health initiative funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the TASC2 Contract No. GHS-I-802-03-00031-00 issued to Emerging Markets Group, Ltd. (EMG) in partnership with IntraHealth International and Save the Children. The goal of Project NOVA is to improve the quality and access to rural reproductive, maternal and child health (RH/MCH) nation-wide, and to build the capacity of national institutions to sustain such improvements over time. USAID’s Project NOVA is implementing project activities in cooperation with the Armenian Ministry of Health, marz health organizations and local non-governmental organizations. October 2004 – September 2006 Summary of Achievement • Project NOVA trained a total of 282 physicians and nurses1 in the areas of RH/MCH and established twelve Clinical Training Sites (CTS). The organization of the CTS included updating service delivery protocols, training staff, developing a trainers and preceptors network, and providing basic training, clinical equipment and supplies. Project NOVA trained 302 health care providers from the CTS of five marzes – including ob/gyns, pediatricians, midwives and nurses -- in general principles of infection prevention, emergency obstetrics, antenatal care, postpartum care, and infant care. • Project NOVA conducted Gender Sensitization Workshop for a total of 27 participants to integrate gender issues into project implementation areas. • Project NOVA developed a Geographic Information System (GIS). A GIS is an information system used to input, store, retrieve, manipulate, analyze and output geographically referenced data in order to support decision making and solve complex problems with regards to the planning and management of resources. -

National policies and tools for implementation of and compliance with international environmental agreements are developed and adopted Implementing Partner: Ministry of Nature Protection Responsible Partners: United Nations Development Programme Brief Description Armenia is located at the junction of the biogeographic zones of the Lesser Caucasus and the Iranian and Mediterranean zones and exhibits both a great range of altitudinal variation and a diversity of climatic zones. Together this has resulted in a diversity of landscapes and ecological communities with a distinct flora and fauna, including many regionally endemic, relict, and rare species. Across much of the country, these landscapes face moderate to severe deforestation and overgrazing pressures, corresponding in high rates of erosion, increasing soil salinity, lowered soil fertility, and loss of biodiversity. The main cause of land and forest degradation in North- Eastern Armenia, where 64% of the forests of the country are located is the deforestation and overexploitation of forest resources. -
