ACADEMIC SENATE OF THE CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY AS-2808-07/Northridge Del. May 10-11, 2007 Commendation of Dr. Michael Reagan WHEREAS, Michael Reagan has ably represented California State University, Northridge (CSUN) faculty as a member of the Academic Senate California State University (CSU) during the past nine years; and WHEREAS, Michael Reagan has successfully educated his colleagues on the Academic Senate CSU as to the importance that his name not be pronounced as that of a former president of the United States and that there is no connection between Michael and the former president either by family or ideology; and WHEREAS, Michael has served the Academic Senate CSU well as a member of its Committee on Faculty Affairs (FA) and its Committee on Fiscal and Governmental Affairs (FGA); and WHEREAS, Michael has served on the systemwide Commission on Learning Resources and Instructional Technology (CLRIT), the Advisory Committee on Alternative Archives, the Earthquake and Emergency Preparedness Committee, the Ad Hoc Budget Advisory Group, the International Student Exchange Committee and, most recently, the Advisory Committee on Pre-Doctoral Program; and WHEREAS, Michael has contributed to the welfare of CSUN and CSU faculty in his activities as a member of the Faculty Senate CSUN, as a member of the Executive Committee of the Faculty Senate CSUN, as the past President of the CFA Northridge Chapter of the California Faculty Association (CFA) and as a former member of a CFA Bargaining Team; and WHEREAS, Michael, will return to his role as a Librarian at CSUN where he has served for over 17 years and has devoted his considerable professional and technical skills to the improvement of electronic access to library resources; therefore be it RESOLVED: That the Academic Senate CSU extend its deep gratitude to Michael for his time and service to FA, FGA, the Senate, and the system-wide committees that he has served on, and thank him for his unwavering support of CSU faculty and students.
