NWFB Route 26, 27, 15C & Citybus Route 12 Service Adjustment NWFB Route 26, 27, 15C & Citybus Route 12 Service Adjustment NWFB Route 23A Cancellation (8 July 2013, Hong Kong) With effect from 14 July (Sunday), service adjustment will be implemented on New World First Bus (“NWFB”) Route 26, 27, 15C and Citybus Route 12, while service of NWFB Route 23A will be cancelled. Details are so follows: NWFB Route 26 Service of NWFB Route 26 during morning and evening peak hours on Monday to Friday (except Public Holiday) will be strengthened to 8-10 minutes and 12 minutes headway respectively, while the frequency at remaining service period will be at 12-20 minutes headway. NWFB Route 27 Service hours of NWFB Route 27 from North Point Ferry Pier will be extended to 11:40pm daily. NWFB Route 15C There will be a new morning special service for NWFB Route 15C, traveling from Central (Star Ferry Piers) to Kennedy Road (Kennedy Heights) on Monday to Friday (except Public Holiday) 6:45am to 9:45am at 30 minutes headway. The route will travel via Man Kwong Street, Man Yiu Street, Connaught Place, Connaught Road Central, Cotton Tree Drive and Kennedy Road. Bus stops will be located at Central (Star Ferry Piers), Connaught Road Central City Hall as well as Kennedy Road Kennedy Heights. Current service between Central (Star Ferry Piers) and Garden Road (Peak Tram Station) will remain unchanged. NWFB Route 23A Service of NWFB Route 23A will be cancelled from the same day. Citybus Route 12 Routeing of Route 12 for Robinson bound will detour after Cotton Tree Drive flyover via slip road, Queensway, Queen’s Road Central, D’Aguilar Street, Wellington Street, Lyndhurst Terrace, Hollywood Road, Arbuthnot Road, Caine Road, then resume its original routeing towards Robinson Road. Bus stops at Cotton Tree Drive outside Hong Kong Park and Kennedy Road outside Kennedy Court will be cancelled, and additional bus stops will be located at Queen’s Road Central HSBC Main Building, D’Aguilar Street near Lan Kwai Fong, Lyndhurst Terrace, Hollywood Road Old Central Police Station and Arbuthnot Road The Centrium. For Central bound, the routeing will detour after Garden Road via Des Voeux Road Central, Ice House Street, Connaught Road Central, Connaught Place and resume to its original routeing towards Central Ferry Piers. Bus stops at Queen’s Road Central HSBC Main Building and Pedder Street will be cancelled, and additional bus stops will be located at Ice House Street Alexandra House. On Sunday and Public Holiday, the route will detour via Queen’s Road Central and Pedder Street towards Central Ferry Piers, with bus stops at Queen’s Road Central HSBC Main Building and Pedder Street. Page 1of 2 New Octopus Bus-Bus Interchange (“BBI”) concessions will take effect between Citybus Route 12, 5, 5B, 10 and NWFB Route 26, to facilitate passengers traveling between West Mid-levels, Admiralty, Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, North Point and Lai Tak Tsuen. They also contribute to the overall process of identity production, as well as to the building of a collective memory for a multicultural society like Hong Kong. Virtual community archives are also a great way of bringing people together.

    Police Headquarters Block Location 10 Hollywood Road Date of completion 1919 Main building materials Steel reinforcement, concrete, granite, red bricks Architect Leslie Owen Ross of Britain, Royal Engineer Officer of the British Army Hong Kong Garrison Major functions Used as the Hong Kong Island Regional Police Headquarters and the Central District Police Headquarters after World War II. The building was decommissioned in 2004. HONG KONG HERITAGE SERIES Architectural features 1. Facing Hollywood Road, and BUILT IN HONG KONG serving as the distinguishing landmark of the Compound. 2. The north façade of the building is 4-storey high, offering an impression of solemnity and authority. 3. Constructed with the steel- reinforced concrete technology POLICE HEADQUARTERS BLOCK newly introduced at the time. This freed the adornments of the outer- wall from the constraints of the underlying architectural structure, and combined flexibly the building styles of different eras to give an aura of authority. Architectural features The front elevation of Police Headquarters Block reflects the revivalist architectural style that gained popularity in mid-18th century Britain: 1. Doric order: featuring massive columns bearing fillisters — a classic style common among Greek temples. 2. Roman arch: elongates the vertical proportion of the entire façade, giving the building a more solemn aura. 3. Baroque style: a popular style during the 17th century featuring columns that connect through several storeys. The style is grand and magnificent. 4. The “G” and “R” engravings at the centre of the building: abbreviated from the Latin rendering of the name of King George the Fifth ( Georgius V Rex ). 5. The decorative designs fringing the front entrance: are a symbol of the sceptre-holding disciplinary officials in ancient Rome, symbolising the tradition and authority of the Police Force.
