Swear words in Deadpool movie . Yogyakarta: Sanata Dharma University. Some people tend to use swear words as the way to express their emotion in a conversation since it can trigger a quick response from another person. Moreover, we can easily find swear words in a movie or a novel. Thus, the researcher chose Deadpool movie because there were a lot of swear words uttered by the characters. The researcher formulated two questions. The first research question is 1) Which types of swear words are used by the characters of Deadpool movie? The second research question is 2) What are the reasons for swearing in the Deadpool movie? This research conducted using mixed method research. The researcher used used discourse analysis as the method. The data were obtained from the English subtitle of the Deadpool movie. In order to answer the first research question, the data were classified into the types of swear words according to Battistella (2005). In order to answer the second research question, the data were classified into the reasons for swearing words according to Andersson and Trudgill (as cited in Lindahl, 2008). The research result revealed that there were four types of swear words used by Deadpool ’s characters namely epithets, profanity, vulgarity and obscenity. The most frequent type which appeared in the movie was obscenity. Furthermore, the research showed that there were four reasons for swearing done by the characters of Deadpool . They are expletive swearing, abusive swearing, humorous swearing and auxiliary swearing. In addition, there are three combinations of the reasons for swearing based on the theory namely expletive and auxiliary; abusive and auxiliary; and humorous and auxiliary. Based on the analysis, the characters of Deadpool often used the swear words to express their feeling which was called as expletive swearing. In conclusion, each type of swear words had a relation with the reasons for swearing. Based on the data, each type had more than one reason for swearing which was used by the characters in Deadpool movie. Keywords: swear words, Deadpool, discourse analysis vi PLAGIAT MERUPAKAN TINDAKAN TIDAK TERPUJI ABSTRAK Pritadewi, Brigitta Arni. 2018. Swear words in Deadpool movie . Yogyakarta: Sanata Dharma University. Kata kunci: swear words, Deadpool, discourse analysis vii PLAGIAT MERUPAKAN TINDAKAN TIDAK TERPUJI ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS I could have many plans from A to Z but without God’s permission and support, it won’t happen. The transport of sand and dust by wind is a potent erosional force, creates sand dunes and ripples, and loads the atmosphere with suspended dust aerosols. This article presents an extensive review of the physics of wind-blown sand and dust on Earth and Mars. Specifically, we review the physics of aeolian saltation, the formation and development of sand dunes and ripples, the physics of dust aerosol emission, the weather phenomena that trigger dust storms, and the lifting of dust by dust devils and other small- scale vortices. We also discuss the physics of wind-blown sand and dune formation on Venus and Titan. In Memoriam 1942 – 2013 | ROGEREBERT..COM Choose a Section REVIEWS DEADPOOL | Brian Tallerico February 12, 2016 | “Deadpool” is the cinematic equivalent of that kid in school who would always say how much he didn’t care what people thought of him, but just loud enough so everybody could hear him. It is the teenager who pretends to be too cool to care, but wants you Print Page to like him so badly it hurts. Of course, this is partially a byproduct of being a cog in the machine of the superhero movie Like 197 marketing system—you unavoidably have to hit a few of the beats of the genre in order to satisfy the audience. However, 6 “Deadpool” fails to live up to the potential of its beloved source material, subverting its own agenda by becoming a remarkably generic, by-the-numbers man-in-tights flick. “Deadpool” is about a guy who constantly pushes back against the expectations of Tweet the superhero, but the movie about him fails to match his rebellious personality. It’s a remarkably straightforward origin flick, lacking in true satire of its genre, carried almost entirely by its lead. Deadpool is a fun character, but he’s still in search of a fun movie to match his larger-than-life personality. After years in development limbo, Ryan Reynolds finally gets a role that he was WATCH NOW undeniably built for in this adaptation of Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld’s Marvel creation. A lot of pushback against reviews of comic book films tends to come from those who believe the critic unaware of the source material’s inherent strengths, so it seems fair to note that I read Deadpool back in the ‘90s.

An Annotated Bibliography by Jack Baur and Amanda Jacobs-Foust with Carla Avitabile, Casey Gilly, Jessica Lee, Holly Nguyen, JoAnn Rees, Shawna Sherman, and Elsie Tep May 17th, 2012 Table of Contents Introduction 2 Young Readers 3 Middle School 7 High School 14 Older Teens 22 Prepared by BAYA for the California Library Association 1 Introduction It’s no secret that comics (or “graphic novels,” if you prefer) are hot items in the library world these days. Oh, we’ve known that for years, but recently publishers have been getting into the game in a big way. Too big, arguably. As publishers struggle, it seems like more and more they are turning to graphic novels as new revenue streams, to diversify existing properties, or as ways to repackage old content. With the deluge of titles coming at us, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for a librarian who isn’t deeply invested in their GN collection or tuned into the world of comics publishing to discern the excellent titles from the merely popular, and the quality from the... well, crap. And oh there’s a lot of crap out there these days... But there’s a whole lot of great stuff, too. Comics are a wonderful and unique medium, which allow any kind of story or instruction to be delivered in a way that is fun, engaging, and accessible. Just like other storytelling forms, the content can be simple and amusing, or it can be deep and challenging. It’s no surprise that comics are seeing such a jump in popularity and acceptance now.
