Summer 2021 As I write this in March, I’m hopeful we’re finally starting to see the light at the end of the COVID-19 tunnel. We are grateful to you who have helped stop the spread so we can return to our full slate of programs, and more! The state continues to progress toward Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois plan when all sectors of the economy can fully re-open. A Bridge to Phase 5 plan was presented by Governor Pritzker mid-March that outlines the metrics needed to advance. The bridge phase allows for higher capacity limits at museums, zoos and spectator events as well as increased business operations. Park District staff continues to plan using the best information available amid changing rules and regulations. Some events and programs in this current summer guide may change (for the better!) should certain benchmarks continue to be met. Some of our summer highlights include: • The Oasis Water Park will be open! It’s reservation-only at this time, so please register early. More information is just a few pages over. • The Summer Concert Series returns! Due to the need to social distance, concerts will be held at Circle Park. The Bloomingdale Park District is partnering with the Village of Bloomingdale and the Bloomingdale Public Library to bring you some great entertainment! • Lunchtime Funtime and Family Fun Picnics have combined to form the Kids Entertainment Series. The programming includes a variety of days and times and will be located at Old Town Park. • The Summer Outdoor Movie is back and it’s bringing some friends. As opposed to just one, we’ve got three offerings this summer. The trio of featured flicks also moves to Circle Park to better accommodate for social distancing. We are excited to partner again with Bloomingdale Bank & Trust- a generous sponsor of these great events! • A brand new event and collaboration with the Bloomingdale Parks Foundation is the Patriotic Pooch Parade. Grab your festive fido and take a celebratory circle around Old Town Bloomingdale with a finish in the Wolfden Brewery beer garden. The event is sponsored by PanAmerican Bank, D’s Treats and Wolfden. The Bloomingdale Park District has always served a vital
