Yayasan Azman Hashim Donates 6 Condo Units Worth RM5.52 Million to Universiti Sains Malaysia 31 Oct 2016 Yayasan Azman Hashim Donates 6 Condo Units Worth RM5.52 Million to Universiti Sains Malaysia Petaling Jaya, 6 October 2016 – Yayasan Azman Hashim (YAH) in collaboration with Amcorp Group Berhad (Amcorp) has donated 6 units of the Hillcrest Residences condominium located in Bukit Jambul, Penang for the purpose of setting up the Azman Hashim Endowment Fund (AHEF). The condo units, with an estimated value of RM5.52 million will be used by USM to generate rental income, which in turn will be used to provide financial assistance in the form of scholarships / loans to deserving undergraduate students of USM. The Hillcrest Residences, located within close proximity to USM, is a 5.4-acre luxury high-rise residential development majestically perched on top of Bukit Jambul, approximately 5.75m (188 feet) above sea level. It offers residents a panoramic view of surrounding elegant neighbourhoods, a lush green designer golf-course, an award-winning 5-star international hotel and also overlooks the scenic Melaka Straits Channel. Hillcrest’s strategic hill and coastal location makes it easily accessible through Jelutong Expressway, Penang Bridge, Lebuhraya Bayan Lepas and its only 6 minutes’ drive to the Penang International Airport. Yayasan Azman Hashim donated 6 units of Hillcrest Residences, situated on top of Bukit Jambul, Penang to Universiti Sains Malaysia The Hillcrest development is famed for being a low density project comprising two tower blocks of 20 and 23 storeys high. Tower 1 houses 65 units while Tower 2 has 79 units with only 4 units to each floor, adding to its exclusivity. Yayasan Azman Hashim is a non-profit charitable institution, founded by Amcorp’s Executive Chairman, Tan Sri Azman Hashim. Its objective to give back to society, and to nurture potential talent to be exemplary future leaders of tomorrow has led to YAH’s various charitable and educational projects apart from the Hillcrest donation, namely: RM30 million donation to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia for setting up of Azman Hashim Endowment Scholarship Fund RM25 million donation to Universiti Malaya for the construction of the Bangunan Azman Hashim, which will be used for postgraduate studies by the Accountancy and Business Faculties £2.9 million donation to the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, United Kingdom for the establishment of the Azman Hashim Fellowship RM15 million donation to Universiti Malaysia Sabah for the construction of the Azman Hashim UMS Art Gallery RM10 million donation to Universiti Sains Malaysia, Penang for the construction of the Azman Hashim USM Sports Arena RM7 million donation to International Islamic University Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur for the construction of a multi-purpose hall, the Azman Hashim Complex RM4.2 million donation to Tunku Kurshiah College, Negeri Sembilan for the construction of the Tunku Arishah Sports Arena RM3 million donation to Kuen Cheng High School, Kuala Lumpur for the construction of the Azman Hashim Duplex Library .
