There was an initial expectation that Task Forces would submit plans by early summer but this was not possible for us because of time constraints. The Task Force decided therefore to prepare interim proposals pending the elaboration of a detailed report and project proposals for submission to the National Drug Strategy Team. -

The season of Lent is a time in which the faithful prepare to celebrate the Paschal Mystery, the Passion, Death, Resurrection and Ascension of Christ. Lent is a particular time for penitential practices, and both fasting (abstaining from all foods for a period of time) and abstinence (abstaining from meat) have long been among the forms of voluntary self-denial Christians have practiced for this purpose. -

SAMPLE - Press Release [school logo] FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE January 15, 2018 UNIVERSITY OF PORTLAND, Athens, June 19 – The English Department has announced plans for a 2018 Faculty-Led Study Abroad program in Dublin, Ireland entitled: “Discovering the Rich Literary History of Ireland.” The program will run May 7-20, 2018 and is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors from all academic disciplines, with a participant limit of 24 students. Students will divide their time among the capital city of Dublin, Westport, and Galway immersed in the history and literature of Joyce, Yeats, Shaw, Swift, Wilde, and Beckett. As they take in the charm, culture, and heritage of Irish natives they’ll explore sites such as the Book of Kells, the Writer’s Museum, Joyce Center, Kilmainham Gaol and other landmarks on daily co-curricular activities. The program will also feature five day-trips to Glendalough, Enniskerry, Killiney, Malahide, and Howth. “This will be an unforgettable experience on many levels,” said John Smith, department chair and participating faculty member. He added, “Students will gain an in-depth understanding of how history and culture shaped the literary landscape in which these authors worked and lived.” This program marks the 17 consecutive year University of Portland is offering a study abroad opportunity for students and has partnered with CIEE – Council on International Educational Exchange, to coordinate the program. Killiney Hill Trail • This trail will take approximately two hours. • It could be divided into two halves (Stopes 1-3 and Stops 4-7). • It is designed for senior classes. • One booklet per group, with extra paper for activities. • One adult is required with each group of 4-6. • We recommend that the teacher should complete the trail in advance .
