-2- Message from The First Lady

First Lady Diane

I enjoyed meeting as many of you as possible in our Cedar Kingdom, always showing enthusiasm and efforts to raise money for the Tall Cedar Foundation. It has made me proud to be a part of our charitable giving. Thanks to all of you who have supported John and me during our Cedar journey. I am llooking forward to visiting more Forests and meeting more peoplep of the Kingdom. So many of you have made us feel welcomewel at the Cedar functions. I am grateful to our 2011 Com- mitteemitt for all their endeavors to make Midwinter in Gettysburg anda d Convention C ve ti iin WilWildwood successes. Thanks to Natalie and Brian Fritz for the fantastic hospitality room treats for the past three years. I thank all the ladies who served as Color Guard for our lunch and brunch. I so appreciate the donation to the Tall Cedar Foundation that the Color Guard made in my behalf. What an honor for me! Thanks also to all the ladies of the Forests who donated the door prizes for the Convention "Brunch at the Beach." I am very thankful to have Pat Wagner and JoAnne Barndt as my Aides. We have been great traveling companions with lots of laughs and inspirational conver- sations. Their loyal support is welcomed and appreciated. Appreciation also goes to Van and Phyllis Jodon for traveling to Cedar functions with our Goodwill Ambassador of 2011, Colin Studlack and his family. Jan Stanton has been very helpful with many suggestions during this year. Her years of knowledge and experience is outstanding. Special wishes for successful years and safe traveling to Bud and Nancy Willard, Dick and Pat Feeser and Barry and Suzanne Sheaffer. This years MDA Telethon in Las Vegas will be the last with Jerry Lewis. It is a special privilege for John and me to represent The Tall Cedars of Lebanon of North America at this historic event. Three year's ago John asked Jerry Wagner to be his Aide. At the same time Jerry was Supreme Chaplain. Since that time I have listened to all the good things he has preached, I have read the good things he has written in the Cedar Digest and am grate- ful for all the good prayers he has prayed for each of us. Thank you Pastor Wagner. I end my message with a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson: "You can never do a kindness too soon because you never know how soon it will be too late."

Sincerely, Diane

-6- Supreme Chaplain's Message

Reverend Gerald D. Wagner

Jerry and Pat Wagner

For many years we have enjoyed the words of wisdom and wit provided by our Supreme Chaplain in this magazine, at the Mid Winter Conference, and the Annual Sessions. Recently our brother, the Reverend Gerald Wagner, has become seriously ill, causing him to become less visible in our Masonic family. The concern for him by our brothers and sisters has been overwhelming. What we need are your continued prayers for him and his family. Jerry has not lost his sense of humor and contin- ues to be that “upbeat” person he has always been when interacting with others. Personally, I can not express what he has meant to me as my aide and brother over the past three years as we journeyed throughout the Kingdom, and the sadness I have felt when he told me about his illness. Please pray for him and send him cards. I am sure he would appreciate hearing from each and every one of us in the Cedar Kingdom.

-8- Welcome to theEternal Forest

All members of all forests are equally important in the Cedar Kingdom. Our ladies, without whose support, we could not function, are just as important. Some members and some ladies due to what they have done for us have become known well outside of their forest. We do have an annual memorial service but sadly, it is attended by only a small fraction of the Kingdom and so many do not learn of the passing of these our friends. Therefore, I would like to start this regular entry in the Cedar Digest so that all in the Kingdom can know of a friend that has passed and the works they have done. Please contact the Public Relations Committee to add a friend.

Susan “Stitches” Doman (Main Line Forest #153)

Stitches became associated with the Tall Cedars almost forty years ago when her husband Whiskers (aka John Doman) joined. She was always there to help in our cause. She was also there to help nurture the Tall Cedar clowns. She would not only give them ideas about costum- ing, but would also make items for them to wear. At Rose Sales, parades and other events, she was there to support the rest of the cast or to step in and give that “Motherly Touch of Love” that she never ran out of. In those of us whose lives were touched by Stitches, there is now a void that can’t quite be fi lled with the wonderful memories she left behind.
