GENERAL INFORMATION FOR MEETING BULLETIN

1. Location & Schedule of Meeting

1.1. An ADS-B Workshop and the Eighth Meeting of the South East Asia & Bay of Bengal Sub-regional ADS-B Implementation Working Group (SEA/BOB ADS-B WG/8) will be held from 5 to 7 December 2012 in , Myanmar.

1.2 The venue of the meeting is International Business Centre, No 88, Pyay Road, 6 ½ miles, Hlaing Township, Yangon, which is located approximately 7 Kilometers from Yangon International Airport. The telephone number of IBC is +95 (1) 667133, 513482.

2. Registration of participants

2.1. Participants are requested to register at the Registration Desk outside the conference room on Wednesday 5 December 2012 between 0830 – 0900 hrs. Participants are also requested to put on the identification badge while attending all activities during the meeting.

4. Meeting documents for distribution

4.1 All Working/Information Papers for the Meeting should be submitted in Microsoft Word or Power Point format before 23 November 2012 for publishing on the ICAO APAC web site. Participants are requested to download meeting documents at following webpage and bring the papers with them: http://www.bangkok.icao.int/cns/meeting.do. No hard copy of papers will be distributed.

5. Hotel Accommodation

5.1. Considering that November is the tourist season for Yangon, it is recommended that hotel booking should be done well in advance.

5.2. The list of hotels near the venue of the meeting and their tariff is provided at the bottom of this bulletin. Taxi services are normally available through the hotel reception counters.

6. Miscellaneous Information

6.1. Climate: The winters (November to January) are pleasant time of the year in Yangon, best suited to visit the city. The average temperature is expected to be between 21°-32° C and it normally won’t below 20° C.

6.2. Time: Myanmar is 6 hours 30 minutes ahead of Universal Coordinated Time (UTC+0630 hours).

6.3. Electric System: The electrical system in Myanmar operates on 220 Volt 50 cycles, with two flat parallel pin is more common. In the conference room, extension power cord will be made available to the users.

6.4. Water: It is recommended that visitors drink only bottled water.

6.5. Passport & Visa: All foreign nationals entering Myanmar must possess valid passport and other valid travel documents. If any clarification is required on visa requirements, please contact Department of Civil Aviation, person at the address mentioned below.

6.7. Currency & Banking Service: The monetary unit in Myanmar is Kyat (MMK). The current exchange rate is US$1 = Kyat 850.- (approx.). Private money exchange services may offer better rates, but please check first if they are authorized.
