Happy New Year to you all!

You will have no doubt seen from the latest Government Briefing, Primary Schools in our area have been asked to start the Spring term as planned on Tuesday 5th January, after the staff training day on Monday. We are pleased to be able to welcome back our families and to get the new term started!

As we start this term having moved from Tier 1 when we closed, to now being in Tier 3, we have reviewed our Risk Assessments and brought in some additional measures within the school to reflect the increased infection rate in Cornwall. These include additional fogging of classrooms and staff wearing face masks in communal spaces. Some staff may also choose to wear a visor and all visitors will wear a face mask at all times in the building. All other existing measures we have previously informed you about, were already as robust as those in areas experiencing a much higher level of infection rate and these all still remain in place this term.

To help keep our school as safe as possible during this time of increased infection rate we ask you to: • Please remain vigilant for any Covid-19 symptoms. Do not send your child to school if they or anyone in your household are displaying symptoms. Our previous guidance had said that if you are exhibiting more seasonal cold/cough symptoms then please come to school but during this period if you are in any doubt, please do not send children in. • Please contact the school office if your child is going to be absent on 01208 841306. • When using our school site for drop off and collection, please remember to: - Only arrive at the drop off and collection point when your child is scheduled to enter / exit school: Einstein & Armstrong Classes at 8.40am/3.15pm & Newton Class at 8.50am/3.05pm to avoid gathering - Only have one adult on site for your child at pick up and collection times to reduce the number of adults on site at any time - Wear a face covering - Keep a safe distance from all other parents using our site, and leave swiftly after drop off or collection • Continue to adhere to all government guidance in place for Tier 3 https://www.gov.uk/guidance/tier-3-very-high-alert

We understand that returning to school at a time when our local infection rate has increased will cause new concern for our families. Please do contact us at school from Monday if you would like to discuss these with a member of our team. We have worked in partnership all the way through this pandemic and we want to continue to work with you to ensure you feel fully informed about our safety measures, and to talk about any specific concerns you may have.

With best wishes for a Happy and Healthy 2021.
