Dear Mr. Hickey,

We were one of the participants of the Third Sector 's Nonprofit Workout conference on May 161h and 17th.lt has been brought to our attention that Hyatt is imposing increase in workers health care payment and interferes with workers' organizing effort.

I am writing to you on behalfofthe Chinese Progressive Association's Workers Center, a program which helps Chinese workers to learn about their rights and help to organize workers to fight for their rights at their workplace and police arena, and promote workers' participation in union activities. The Chinese Progressive Association is base in Boston Chinatown, with a membership of over 900 in the Greater Boston area.

I would like to inform you that Chinese Progressive Association has endorsed the UNITE HERE national boycott of Hyatt Regency and will refrain from arranging conferences, attending future events, book hotel rooms, or otherwise patronizing the Hyatt Regency until the dispute is resolved.

Although Hyatt Regency Cambridge has do not have a dispute with UNITE HERE, we encourage you to press your colleagues at the Hyatt to move quickly to negotiate a fair and equitable settlement for workers.

Sincerely,

Lead Organizer

UNITE HERE! is the Hotel Workers Union in North America.

Global corporations like Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott and Starwood (Sheraton, Westin, W, St. Regis) dominate the hotel industry in North America.

As part of UNITE HERE! 's effort to organize and raise the standards for Hotel Workers in North America, UNITE HERE Local Unions across the continent are fighting to line up their hotel contracts with 2006 expiration dates.

Boston and other major cities, including New York, Chicago, Honolulu, and Toronto, have achieved 2006 contract expiration dates.

Hotel Workers in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Washington DC are currently fighting for contracts with 2006 expiration dates.

The key issues in theses contract fights are: Affordable Health Care, Pensions, Immigrant Rights, Affirmative Action, Workload Issues and Wages.

Boston Hotel Workers, members of UNITE HERE! Local 26 are deeply engaged in support for the SF, LA and DC Hotel Workers. On October 20th , 100 Local 26 members staged a civil disobedience action and took over the lobby of the Boston Hyatt Hotel in support of 4,000 locked-out SF Hotel workers. Local 26 members are staging weekly actions in Boston hotels.

Boston Local 26 members see the fights in SF, LA and DC as their fight. They realize that they are much stronger taking on the global corporate giants in many cities across North America at the same time, rather than in Boston alone.

As one component of a comprehensive campaign for justice for Hotel Workers, Local Unions across North America are initiating boycotts of non union hotels operated by the dominant hotel corporations.

In Boston, Local 26 has initiated a boycott against the Hyatt Regency in downtown Boston. Boycott activities include phone calls and delegations to hotel clients to demand that they move their business elsewhere, and intensive leafleting at the hotel.

To find out more about how you and your organization can participate in the Hyatt Boycott, contact Sam Pullen, Local 26 Boycott Coordinator, at (781) 416-4926. (elI (Iraq 27S- 71>7 ~ 5ctWivu..l bp~.A.ll~vte~ot~:l . cov-A. The Lockout Ma

But The Fight Has Just Begun.

Around The Country, 10,000 hotel workers in three cities are fighting global hotel corporations like Hyatt, Starwood, and Intercontinental for just contracts. The hotels want to impose massive increases in worker health care payments, and they want to break workers' solidarity and keep them divided.

Here in Boston, we are telling Hyatt in the only language they understand to sit down and negotiate responsibly. BOYCOTT HYATT REGENCY BOSTON

You don't get to be a billionaire with 'bleeding heart' business practices. Thus you would not be surprised if Tom Pritzker's business- Hyatt demanded a competitive bottom line. But in the case of the Hyatt Regency renovation in Boston, corporate greed is getting a bad name! They Sleep Where They Work!

Dozens of Hispanic workers are being housed in virtual servitude on the 7th floor of the hotel. They sleep.where they work, sort of like a factory in a Third World Country! Closed off from the outside world by an imported security firm, the immigrant workers are prevented from learning about help that might be available from "Blue State" agencies concerning issues like overtime pay, workers compensation benefits, and health care. Boston Doesn't Need Pritzker Economics!

The people of Boston are struggling to keep their wages at a community standard. They are struggling to maintain decent housing, and they are fighting to obtain and keep decent health care. We don't really need a family of the richest people in the United States sucking the wealth from Boston, and rewarding us with low wages and heinous working conditions.

We Reject 'Red State' Wages!

Our brothers on the 7th floor deserve decent wages and benefits. We welcome them to our community, and we promise to fight for them. And we promise to fight those who would bring 'Red State' wages and benefits to Boston. If you agree with us, call Hyatt and leave a message for Tom Pritzker at 1-800-233-1234.
