It is our utmost pleasure to inform you that the current year 2014 marks the 28th Anniversary of PMET's efforts to minimize backwardness of Muslims in Gujarat in the field of education. PMET was established with a view to considering education is the only solution of myriad problems Muslims face. Alhamdulillah, efforts were paid back and as a result, a considerable awareness and importance of education arose in the community. Now we see a difference. Graduates, post graduates, doctors, engineers and percentage of female education has increased. Though, there is much more to be done as Sachar Commission Report shows. Students taking Eligibility Entrance Test for CA. on 8th June, 2014 Primary Talent Search Project For the last two years, PMET has launched 'Primary Talent Search Project’ for the students of 6, 7, and 8 Grades. The students who had secured 80% or more in their last exam were invited to take the Talent Search Exam. The OBJECT of the project is to identify from Primary Level highly talented students of the community and to focus more on such students to prepare them for highly competitive professional fields. 1415 students from 60 Primary Schools of Bharuch, Vadodara and Surat Districts participated. Question Papers were set by the expert committee members and the exam was administered on February 9th, 2014 at 5 different centers in Surat and Bharuch. 46 students were qualified on merit base for IRs. 1000/- scholarship for each student (15 students from 6th grade, 13 from 7th grade and 18 from 8th grade). The participants who achieved 50% or more marks were given a token Prize and Certificate. 358 students were qualified for the school bag. Selected Students of Adoption Scheme for Secondary Level. Memorial Hostel, Rander Since 1992, the trust runs and manages the hostel facility for the students who come to Surat City for their higher education. The Hostel accommodates 50 students. The selected-adopted students and all students selected on merit bases for the C.A. Programme are given free lodging and boarding facility in the hostel. Other students are provided services of lodging and boarding at very subsidized rates. The trust bears the loss of about more than IRs. 3,50,000/- per year in hostel expenses. This is the only facility in Gujarat where 35 students study for C.A. Programme together under one roof. The unique feature of the hostel facility is individual attention to every student about their progress in academic field and care is taken to cultivate Islamic Character. Occasional talks to guide the students are arranged by educationists and experts in different fields. The total development of every student is the mission of the Trust. Currently, the hostel has a capacity of accommodating 50 students and it is always full. Alhamdulillah, The construction of the roof top floor is completed to meet the growing demand for admission. Now we can accommodate 30 more students. Total cost of the roof top construction was provided by Munshi Manubarwala Memorial Charitable Trust. M. Naeem Mansuri, a student whose family was a victim of 2002 communal riots. His mother was killed and the house was looted and they were displaced. M. Naeem was adopted in 2012. His pursuing a B.Com/C.A. Study. He is a national athlete. He was interviewed by Amirkhan in his Satyamev Jayate Episodes: on 29th July, 2012. The library is situated in the PMET premises and has books of interest to all spectrum of society. RAHMANI 30, Bihar In coordination PMET-MMMCT with Rahmani 30 of Bihar, PMET administered Rahmani 30 - Talent Test to select students for the preparation batch for JEE-2015. The test was conducted in 15 different Centers in Gujarat on April 13, 2014. About 1633 students participated. The talent search is an all-India level test and 55 students were qualified for personal interview. The personal Interview was held at MMMCT Campus, Bharuch on 18th May, 2014. Five students were selected for JEE-2015 to be trained at Anjuman-e-Islam High School at Mumbai. NEET programme was developed for girls to prepare them for all India Medical Entrance test.

Thus, in any metropolitan territory, the residential location is a fundamental piece of urban planning. Residential location choice of households is core agents in the urban dynamic system. Determination of Residential area is an exceptionally intricate nature of every household of an urban area. Studies of residential location choice show that many factors contribute to the choice of a given location likes the characteristics of the housing unit, its location with respect to social and environmental amenities as well as access to jobs, services and other economic opportunities. Area decision change with city to city contingent upon above expressed variables and city qualities. This study aims to analyses the residential choice behavior of residents of west zone of Surat city. A questionnaire is designed considering various factors like environment, infrastructure facilities, cost, amenities, and work place location. Initially a pilot survey was conducted to finalize the revised draft of questionnaire. The residents were divided in various income groups. The study area is a quickly developing neighbourhood on the west side of the city. The land prices are also soaring, indicating its attraction attributes. For analysis of location choice Ranking and Weightage approach of multi criteria decision making is used.

    Creditable initiative of our young brothers réunionnais It is with an immense pleasure and much of emotions that I read the report of Reza Issack on the sociocultural demonstration held Sunday August 29, 2004 with Between Two, Ile of the Meeting, under the aegis of the Moslem Philanthropic association of Kathor [ APMK ]. It is with joy which one notes that young people, following the example Isma ël Hassim Locate, seeks to make revive the history of their ancestors, to make known their place, their village, in Large Peninsule. Ismaël Hassim Locate (of which the late father, Hassim Motha, was very expensive to me) was made a duty carry out a kind of pilgrimage in Kathor, village of its aïeux. It was in 1975. It achieved what it always wished. From there, it was interested of advantage in the AMPK, founded in 1954, of which one of the founders is Mr. Aboo Bakar Omarjee, today with the retirement with St Pierre. Among the founder members with the Meeting, fire Ismaël Zadvat, great personality réunionnaise, and Ismaël Molla, inter alia. I was moved by this account by Ismaël Locate which revives me a stay that I carried out in India in company of M.M Mahmad Amine Timol, the mutawalli of Masjid Markaz-E-Islam, and Baboo Randeree, both originating in Kathor. It was in November 1996. We were royally accomodated by the members of the Committee of Reception who are also the administrators of The Kathor Medical Trust, of which MISTERS Usman Umarjee, Ismaël Shaik, Professor Khalik Amla, Ahmed Randeree, Ayub Harif and Yacub Dadubhai, inter alia.

    The Grey Street Mosque, 1880-1930 Indians began settling in Natal from 1860 when the first indentured workers arrived.1 They were followed from the mid-1870s by entrepreneurs from Gujarat on the west coast of India. Roughly 10,000 to 15,000 of indentured workers were Muslim, as were most of the 4,000 ordinary migrants.2 Indians numbered around a hundred thousand of Natal’s population of one million in 1904. Ten percent were Muslim, 87 percent Hindu, and two percent Christian.3 The majority of Whites opposed the assimilation of Indians into the dominant culture and, after self-Government in 1893, introduced legislation to legally separate the population into `races’.4 Non-indentured Indians were subordinated on the basis of race so that Whites would feel secure against the `Asiatic Menace’.5 Most studies of this period tend to concentrate on the political conflict between “Whites”, “Africans”, and “Indians”, treating these as homogeneous groupings.6 This study focuses on the small Indian Muslim group. The broad objectives, to examine the dynamics of community formation and the (false) notion of homogeneous community, are explored through a case study of the Grey Street mosque.7 Mosques occupy an important position in the life of Muslims. When the Prophet Muhammad migrated from Makkah to Madinah, one of his first acts was to locate a suitable site for a mosque. Muslims construe this as a signal that mosques are a vital cornerstone for building community. Muslim migrants to Natal set about recreating the religious and cultural bases of their lives almost immediately after settlement.
