Such business models are currently facing high rates of failure due to costs of delivery that can often surpass 100% of total revenue. Thus any significant decrease in delivery costs could dras- tically increase the probability of reaching profitability and a sustainable corporate entity. This thesis explores a simulation designed to model such delivery networks used by companies such as Kozmo. Changes to the distribution chain were further applied to discover possibilities for optimization and to quantify their effects.
