How shall I make a return to the Lord for all the good He has done for me? (Psalm 116:12) The Parish Budget for Fiscal Year 2021 (7/1/20 - 6/30/21) is based on the giving of our faith family for Fiscal Year 2021. The portion of our budget contributed in envelopes, checks and loose cash is $1,768,000.00 or $34,000.00 per week. Contributions for the 21st weekend of the fiscal year were $49,796.00. In the 21st week of our fiscal year, our budgeted goal for ministry programs and ordinary operating expense is $748,000.00 and our collections are $711,223.00. Thank you for your continuing generosity. May God bless you in your sacrificial giving. Lord, help me move from comfort to sacrifice. From the Pastor PARISH MISSION STATEMENT Our Lady of the Annunciation Roman Catholic Parish is a people of living faith rooted in the Gospel, centered on the Eucharist and led by the Holy Spirit. SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENT In the words of the Prophet Isaiah, the beginning of St. Mark’s Gospel, MK 1:3, reminds us to “prepare the way of the Lord.” As we enter more deeply into the Advent Season, let us look at ways that we might better prepare for Christmas this year using the acronym “prepare”: P is for the purity of heart which leads to the vision of God. R is for reconciliation with God and with others, eschewing the sin, resentment and bitterness that block the divine indwelling. E is for the Eucharist–receiving Our Lord with a grateful heart. P is for penance–acts of self-denial and sacrifice to overcome self-indulgence. A is for almsgiving as we give to the needy and right some of the wrongs of our world. R is for reverence–respect for God and for God’s presence in the world and in our neighbor. E is for eternity–by which we keep our eyes fixed on our eternal destiny, life with God forever. Let us use these treasures and practice them in order to better prepare the way of the Lord!

SOLEMNITY OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION We will begin our celebration of the Immaculate Conception, a holy day and solemnity, on Tuesday, Dec. 8th with three Masses scheduled at 8:30 a.m. (indoors), 12:15 p.m. (indoors) and 5:30 p.md in the rectory chapel. Come and join us as we honor Mary Immaculate as our Mother and the patroness of our nation.

RETIREMENT FUND FOR RELIGIOUS Next weekend, Dec. 12-13, we will take up the annual collection for the retired religious sisters, brothers and priests here in the United States. In addition, half of the collection will go to the APRF–the Archdiocesan Priests Relief Fund for the retired priests of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. The other half will go to the national office for all retired religious throughout the United States. Senior religious have offered their lives in service to others, whether , Paracletes, Vincentian , , , the Brothers of St. John of God (Good Shepherd Brothers) or one of the more than 34,000 other religious above the age of 70 here in America. The situation remains critical as the retired religious are projected to outnumber the compensated religious by four to one at the end of the decade. As the religious have been so generous to us in our education, healthcare and spiritual lives, let us return the blessing with a truly supportive collection next weekend. Thanks to all the religious who have blessed us with grace and love for so many years. God bless you all!

PRAYER TO MARY IMMACULATE O Virgin Immaculate, Mother of God and my Mother, from your sublime height turn upon me your eyes of pity. Filled with confidence in your goodness and knowing full well your power, I beseech you to extend to me your assistance in the journey of life, which is so full of dangers for my soul. And in order that I may never be the slave of the devil through sin, but may ever live with my heart humble and pure, I entrust myself wholly to you. I conse- crate my heart to you forever, my only desire being to love your divine Son Jesus. O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse unto you! Amen. Parish Happenings
