A couple other items of note…if you want to read the magazines on a device, you’ll need to download the correct app first. You can find links for these at the bottom of the magazine checkout page, or by getting the free Zinio app from your favorite app store. The other thing to keep in mind is that while we won’t limit you to how many magazines you can check out, space might become an issue. Most magazines we offer take up to anywhere from 30 to 50 megabytes of space; National Geographic’s Interactive will take 50 to 100 megabytes of space and is by far the largest of the titles we offer. Many of these magazines are highly interactive (you can change the color of the model’s clothing, click on that resort ad to visit their website for more details, etc.), and that means they tend to be space hogs. Not convinced this is the way you want to read your favorite magazines? Don’t worry, we still subscribe to the paper copies too and you can view them and check them out at the library like normal. If Zinio proves to be as popular as we think it will be for our busy patrons who can’t always find the time to walk through our doors, staff will evaluate adding new titles to the list. So please take a few minutes, try it out and let us know what you think; after all, this is YOUR public library and we truly value your input.
