Other top ANFIC varieties include those which have proven to be viable replacements, or which complement some current industry varieties based on trial planting results from around Australia.

THE LATEST ANFIC VARIETIES

ANFIC and our international colleagues continue to search for new fruit and nut varieties and rootstocks for evaluation and commercialisation across Australia’s fruit industries. Some of these new and exceptional fruit varieties are highlighted in this 2019 ANFIC Variety Catalogue, as ‘Under Trial’ in the early stages of fruit evaluation or as ‘Coming Soon’ once released from Plant Quarantine. If you have an interest in either trialling these new and exceptional fruit varieties or being considered for other commercial opportunities, please provide your details to the ANFIC office to be added to the Expressions of Interest being compiled for future trials and commercial developments. We look forward to hearing from you as ANFIC continues to seek new fruit varieties and rootstocks to assist Australian fruit growers to remain competitive in today’s global marketplace. 2019 SPRING VARIETY CATALOGUE 3.

The following Maturity Charts are to be used as a guide only. They provide approximate maturity dates of varieties compared against known standard varieties within each fruit category.

If you know when one of the standard varieties listed on the chart matures in your orchard location (eg 2 weeks later than listed on the chart), you can ‘slide’ that category of varieties across to more closely estimate maturity of other varieties in your region. The order in which varieties mature compared to each other should be similar. Some of the standard varieties (older varieties of known maturity timing) include: Apples: Galaxy Gala or Granny Smith Apricots: Bulida or Trevatt Cherries: Bing Nectarines: Fantasia or Rose Diamond Plums: Santa Rosa or Amber Jewel
