This document includes information on agency size, staffmg, entry requirements, compensation ranges, and benefits for fiscal years 1991/92 and 1992/93. Sections include agency selection standards and training requirements, employment distribution and data, and agency and basic academy addresses for California law enforcement. Commentary on the Basic Course Waiver Examination is provided for use by out-of-state peace officers, or former California peace officers seeking to return to law enforcement employment after a three-year break in service. Also included is information on P. C. 832 training and requaIification requirements, the minimum standards for employment, the POST certificate program, and peace • officer citizenship requirements. The Commission expresses its special appreciation to all the law enforcement agencies that provided data for this document.
