Adelaide Careers & Employment 2021 Show Guide Show Guide FREE careersemploymentexpo.com.au MAY 7 & 8, 2021 OPEN 9AM TO 4PM ADELAIDE SHOWGROUND Presented by Kym Jones Exhibitions [email protected] KJEX.com.au Proud to be South Australian Owned & Operated careersemploymentexpo.com.au Message from the Minister South Australia is emerging strongly from the COVID-19 pandemic, providing real opportunities for young people, school leavers and career seekers. Skilled workers continue to be in high demand as some of our fastest-growing industries look to the future to equip their workforce with the relevant skills required to succeed. Apprenticeships and traineeships are a fantastic way to enter the workforce and ‘earn while you learn’, and they’re becoming more diverse than ever before. And they’re not just in the traditional trades – there are significant opportunities available in emerging industries such as ICT and digital technologies, defence and space. The State Government’s $200 million Skilling South Australia program continues to be successful in getting South Australians onto a skilled career pathway. Since the program commenced in 2018, we’ve seen almost 38,000 new apprenticeship and traineeship commencements – people training in real jobs! Alongside this, the $88 million JobTrainer program is unlocking opportunities for work or further training, targeting both high skills demand areas such as aged care, disability care and childcare as well as new and emerging areas for people aged 17-24. With a range of government incentives on offer to help businesses take on and support apprentices and trainees, including the Federal Government’s 50% wage subsidy up to $28,000 through the Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements program, there have never been so many opportunities to begin your skilled career, and a successful future. The South Australian Government is driving a skills-led economic recovery from COVID – and with industries and jobs constantly evolving and growing, there’s never been a better time to explore your passion. The Careers and Employment Expo gives you the chance to discuss your options one on one with a large variety of exhibitors from educational institutions and local industry sectors. I encourage you to visit the Skilled Careers stand (Site 100) and speak to the experts about the many career options on offer. I also encourage you to visit www.skills.sa.gov.au and check out just some of the amazing apprenticeship and traineeship stories.
