    MEDIA RELEASE 19 March 2015 South Australian Government and Walker Corporation reach agreement on 1,560 Adelaide car park development as part of A$610m transformation of Festival Plaza precinct adjacent to Adelaide Casino SKYCITY agrees key commercial terms for Adelaide car park lease Last Saturday, the South Australian Premier Hon. Jay Weatherill, announced that the State Government and Walker Corporation had reached agreement for the A$610 million redevelopment of the Festival Plaza precinct adjacent to Adelaide Casino. In addition to the development of the new 1,560 space underground car park, the Festival Plaza redevelopment will include a premium office building (along a closed- to-traffic boulevard on Station Road), two levels of cafes, restaurants and retail behind Parliament House, and a complete redesign of the current Hajek Plaza, all adjacent to the Adelaide Casino. (Refer to the South Australian Government announcement attached.) Following this, SKYCITY Entertainment Group Limited (“SKYCITY”) has now agreed the key commercial terms (subject to final documentation) with Walker Corporation for the exclusive lease of 750 of the 1,560 spaces in the proposed Festival Plaza underground car park. SKYCITY’s CEO Nigel Morrison said: “SKYCITY is pleased that the SA Government and Walker Corporation have now reached agreement on this critical $610m redevelopment of the Festival Plaza precinct, including the 1,560 space car park development.     TRIP TO AUSTRALIA MARCH 4 TO APRIL 3, 2014 We timed this trip so that we'd be in Australia at the beginning of their fall season, reasoning that had we come two months earlier we would have experienced some of the most brutal summer weather that the continent had ever known. Temperatures over 40°C (104°F) were common in the cities that we planned to visit: Sydney (in New South Wales), Melbourne* (in Victoria), and Adelaide (in South Australia); and _____________________________________________________________ *Melbourne, for example, had a high of 47°C (117°F) on January 21; and several cities in the interior regions of NSW, Vic, and SA had temperatures of about 50°C (122°F) during Decem ber-January. _______________________________________________________________ there were dangerous brush fires not far from populated areas. As it turned out, we were quite fortunate: typical daily highs were around 25°C (although Adelaide soared to 33°C several days after we left it) and there were only a couple of days of rain. In m y earlier travelogs, I paid tribute to m y wife for her brilliant planning of our journey. So it was this time as well. In the months leading up to our departure, we (i.e., Lee) did yeoman (yeowoman? yo, woman?) work in these areas: (1) deciding which regions of Australia to visit; (2) scouring web sites, in consultation with the travel agency Southern Crossings, for suitable lodging; (3) negotiating with Southern Crossings (with the assistance of Stefan Bisciglia of Specialty Cruise and Villas, a fam ily-run travel agency in Gig Harbor) concerning city and country tours, tickets to events, advice on sights, etc.; and (4) reading several web sites and travel books.

This Guide is our biggest yet with 181 shows featuring a diverse display of culture of which Don Dunstan would have been proud. Don was not only Premier of South Australia during the 1970s, but was also a trained actor. A strong supporter of the Arts throughout his lifetime, he was a patron of the Fringe and narrated Carnival of the Animals in the 1974 Festival of Arts. The Dunstan Decade saw South Australia lead the nation in progressive social reforms, and laid the foundation for Adelaide’s transformation into ‘the Festival State’. The Adelaide Festival was at the forefront of this transformation; since its launch in 1960 they have been showcasing diverse shows from all around the world. In 1974 the Fringe released its first Souvenir Programme, beginning its evolution into what is now the largest arts festival in the Southern Hemisphere. Each year, both go from strength to strength. The Arts bring us together, and help to create and celebrate our diversity. When we offer access to art in all its forms, we improve the quality of life for everyone in our community. A record breaking year for the Adelaide Convention Bureau – results up by 15% and a 180:1 ROI to the South Australian Government. Three years since the first sod of earth was turned, the first stage of projects in the $3 billion re- development of Adelaide’s Riverbank Convention, Research and Entertainment Precinct programme of works have been completed. In the past 12 months, the newly developed $535m Adelaide Oval hosted its first football match and even the Rolling Stone’s. On the accommodation front, three new hotels – Quest on King William, Ibis Adelaide and the 5 star Mayfair Hotel opened their doors offering an additional 582 rooms to visitors to the city. A planned $300+m redevelopment of the Adelaide Casino will also include a new luxury hotel.
