When Strawberry Studios closed down the staff were busy clearing out the building. There were at least 20,000 copy masters from various bands and the artistes or their agents. They were contacted as to whether they wished to buy the tapes from the Strawberry library because they were clearing out. Mostly the artistes already had their own copies and said Strawberry should dispose of them. Some asked for the copy masters and these were handed over. The remaining copy masters were consigned to the skips. A colleague David Drennan was assigned the task of contacting as many of the clients as possible about their tapes. In the case of Factory Records, David Drennan remembers that they only asked for The Happy Mondays tapes and did not want any others. (see copy email ‘Dave Drennan’) Later I discovered that Factory Records had parted company with Joy Division/New Order. I felt that the tapes of Martin Hannett's work i.e. the ones he produced should not be destroyed. That is why I removed them from the skip and rescued them from landfill. When Warners were threatening court action I contacted Nick Turnbull (see copy email ‘Nick Turnbull’) who had been the owner of Strawberry Studios and who closed it down.

Pur formato da giovani strumentisti, il Quartetto Dàidalos ha già al proprio attivo un cospicuo numero di concerti in molte città italiane, tra cui Milano (Casa Verdi, Villa Crespi e Villa Necchi per la Società del Quartetto), Messina (Filarmonica Laudamo), Genova (Associazione Amici di Paganini, Palazzo Rosso), Cremona (Teatro Ponchielli e Auditorium Arvedi), Como (Teatro Sociale) e Novara (Teatro Faraggiana, Auditorium F.lli Olivieri). Nell’estate 2017 è stato quartetto in residence alla 27a edizione del Piedicavallo Festival, suonando in più di una decina di concerti sia come quartetto che in quintetto e sestetto, collaborando con altri musicisti invitati al Festival. Nel 2016 l’ensemble ha ricevuto una borsa di studio dell'Associazione Piero Farulli (“La Pépinière del Quartetto d'Archi”) e nel 2017 una assegnata dalla Gioventù Musicale d’Italia, che ha determinato numerosi concerti premio in città italiane. Nella stagione 2017-2018, il Quartetto Dàidalos si è esibito per prestigiose società ed associazioni concertistiche, tra cui il Paganini Genova Festival, l’Associazione Musica con le Ali, la Società del Quartetto di Milano (Musica nel Tennis), la Società del Quartetto di Bergamo.     GENE FRIEDMAN 3 Dances What is a dance? In 3 Dances, Gene Friedman attempts to answer just that, by presenting various forms of movement. The film is divided into three sections: “Public” opens with a wide aerial shot of The Museum of Modern Art’s Sculpture Garden and visitors walking about; “Party,” filmed in the basement of Judson Memorial Church, features the artists Alex Hay, Deborah Hay, Robert Rauschenberg, and Steve Paxton dancing the twist and other social dances; and “Private” shows the dancer Judith Dunn warming up and rehearsing in her loft studio, accompanied by an atonal vocal score. The three “dances” encompass the range of movement employed by the artists, musicians, and choreographers associated with Judson Dance Theater. With its overlaid exposures, calibrated framing, and pairing of distinct actions, Friedman’s film captures the group’s feverish spirit. WORKSHOPS In the late 1950s and early 1960s, three educational sites were formative for the group of artists who would go on to establish Judson Dance Theater. Through inexpensive workshops and composition classes, these artists explored and developed new approaches to art making that emphasized mutual aid and art’s relationship to its surroundings. The choreographer Anna Halprin used improvisation and simple tasks to encourage her students “to deal with ourselves as people, not dancers.” Her classes took place at her home outside San Francisco, on her Dance Deck, an open-air wood platform surrounded by redwood trees that she prompted her students to use as inspiration. In New York, near Judson Memorial Church, the ballet dancer James Waring taught a class in composition that brought together different elements of a theatrical performance, much like a collage.
