MCC Toronto’s Reopening Plans
We at MCC Toronto hope that this message finds you well and that you have been enjoying the summer sun!
As Ontario continues to progress on its re-opening plans, we want to update you on when we at MCC Toronto will resume In Person Worship Services.
While many are excited to resume in-person Worship Services, others might be more reluctant and prefer to continue online. We want to accommodate both and so we expect online Worships Services will continue in one form or another. Furthermore, as many well know, our sanctuary is sweltering in the summer and so a decision was made some weeks ago to aim for a September resumption of in-person Worship Services.
While some smaller congregations in the city have resumed in-person Services, like a mighty ship, MCC Toronto requires “all hands on deck” to pivot and that’s where you come in! We need you to volunteer, to get engaged, and to stay committed to MCC Toronto!
Here’s what to watch for:
Monday, August 9: We will be sending out a special congregation survey e-mail blast. Please take the 10-15 minutes to fill the survey out diligently. Your responses will help us decide our shared future and determine our direction.
Sunday, September 12: MCC Toronto will host a very special Open House for new congregants who’ve discovered us online over the last 18 months and a Volunteer Training Session for communion servers and greeters. Sunday September 19th: We will have our first In-Person Worship Service in almost a year at our historic building 115 Simpson Avenue for MCC Toronto’s Homecoming Celebration!!! We are still working through the development of clear new protocols to keep you and our communities safe. Those will be circulated in early September.
We can’t wait to worship with you in person and declare loud and proud WELCOME HOME!

Sunday Service Musical Guest Gavin Hope is our Offertory Performer this Sunday!
Gavin is a three-time Juno Award nominee, both as a solo vocalist and as a member of the iconic Canadian a cappella group The Nylons. He has sung with Natalie Cole, Deborah Cox, James Brown, and Aretha Franklin, among others.
Gavin has been a featured vocalist with Jeans ’n Classics for more than a decade, performing the music of Earth, Wind and Fire, Michael Jackson, Prince, Stevie Wonder, and various Broadway hits on the symphonic stage.
His musical theatre highlights include The Lion King (Simba) and RENT (Collins).
From the studio to the stage, Gavin just loves to perform, and when he’s not on the road, he loves to share his gifts with fans in his current hometown of Toronto.

Summer Distribution Clothing Drive MCC Toronto’s LGBTQ+ Refugee Program is looking for ten volunteers for our Summer Distribution Clothing Drive on August 17,19 and 20, 2021.
The volunteers will be in charge of:
Organizing & Pricing ( August 17, 2021 | 11AM – 4 PM) Distribution & Sales Logistics
