Terry Chimes

Terry Chimes (5/7/1956) was born in Stepney, started playing drums when he was 15 years old. Terry was a founder member of , along with Paul Simon & Mick then team up with Joe Strummer and and formed The Clash.

Terry played with The Clash from July 1976 to November 1976, January 1977 to April 1977, and again from May 1982 to February 1983. Both Chimes and Levene subsequently left, but Chimes was brought back to record the band's self-titled debut “The Clash”. On the album sleeve he was credited as Tory Crimes. After recording the album Chimes left the band once again and was replaced by . In 1982, Headon was forced out of the band and Chimes was asked to rejoin for a U.S. tour, a tour supporting , and the following UK tour. He is also in the music videos for, "", ”Should I stay or Should I Go”, and ”Career Opportunities.”

After leaving The Clash, Chimes drummed in other bands including Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers in 1977 and 1984, Cowboys International in 1979, Generation X with from 1980 to 1981, in 1985, The Cherry Bombz in 1986 (with ex Hanoi Rocks members Andy McCoy and Suicide and ex Sham 69/Wanderers/The Lords of the New Church Dave Tregunna) Terry briefly also toured with Black Sabbath from July 1987 through December 1987 on their Eternal Idol Tour in 1988.

After 15 years he left the music business to pursue a career in alternative medicine and became a doctor of chiropractic and also an acupuncturist. Since 1994 Terry practice as a chiropractor in Essex at his clinic; Chimes Chiropractic. He also runs chiropractic seminars, with the accompanying website 'chiropractic heaven'. Today Terry currently runs Europe’s largest consulting business in alternative medicine, lecturing and leading seminars all over Europe and the USA on success and how to become one. He got interested in chiropractics after been cured of a serious arm pain in his first show in 1985 with Black Sabbath by the bands personal chiropractor.

In 2003, Chimes was inducted into in the Hall of Fame as a member of The Clash.

Terry is actively involved in charity work and was chairman of the board for the YMCA of East London for eight years and was nominated as an Ambassador for the Scout Association Region for Greater London at an Adult Appreciation ceremony in 2008.

In 2012 Sulo (Diamond Dogs) went to London with journalist and author Petter Karlsson. Their goal was to interview 70-s rock and punk legends to see what they were doing today and write a book about it. The book is called “Keep yourself alive” and was released in Sweden fall of 2012 (Lind & Co). Terry was one of the legends being interviewed. For the release party Terry flew to Stockholm.

The chemistry and joy of playing turned it into a great concert and gave the legends on stage a taste for more. By January 2013 they had formed the band “The Crunch” and songs was recorded at Berry Street Studio in London.

The Crunch is Sulo (Diamond Dogs), Terry Chimes, Dave Tregunna (Shame 69) and Mick Geggus (Cockney Rejects). Terry on drums and percussions, Sulo is lead singer and songwriter, Dave Tregunna on bass and backup vocals, Mick Geggus on guitar and backup vocals.

First single “Down by the boarder” will be released May 2013 (Legal Records) and the album is due in fall of 2013. The band will play some exclusive gigs during the summer and the first tour will be in the Uk in fall/winter 2013.
