A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR When Christopher Fry's play THE LADY'S NOT FOR BURNING was produced in London in 1949 he was hailed as the greatest verse playwright since Shakespeare. I saw this production and fell in love with Frye's writing, a love that has lasted ever since. I believe A YARD OF SUN to be one of the most beautifully written plays in the English language. I am proud to have the opportunity to present this play to you, with the talented students here at St. Edwards, whose warmth and enthusiasm have been an inspiration to me. Noel Harrison
