WINE LIST ”Too Much of Anything Is Bad, but Too Much Champagne Is Just Right” - F WINE LIST ”Too much of anything is bad, but too much Champagne is just right” - F. Scott Fitzgerald Dear guest, The quote above is from our eponym, and we couldn’t agree with him more. There is nothing wrong with enjoying life where and whenever possible. A good glass of Champagne is the best way to start! Our wine list offers you a selection of more than 2500 wines from all over the world. You will find many well-known names, but also some lesser known. Certain countries and regions are especially well represented because they belong to our personal favorites. We would like to share this enthusiasm with you. Examples are countries like Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria, South Africa, and of course France. Because we have a special interest for wines from Burgundy, we have chosen to present all of our Burgundy wines separately in ‘Our book of Burgundy’. We hope that our wines will tell you a story when you taste them, that they surprise you, and that they taste great too. Wines both classic and contemporary made by skillful and passionate winemakers. Many of those producers deliberately work in the purest and most natural way possible. Certified organic and biodynamic producers are clearly mentioned as such. In our list you will also find a number of ‘natural wines’, where minimal intervention has been the key to success. Many wines you can order by the glass. Furthermore, we offer tailor-made wine pairings with our dishes, or if you feel like enjoying extra special wines, we’ll be happy to do so with our “This Side of Paradise” pairing. In case you have any questions, feel free to ask. We are delighted to advise you and we wish you a lot of wine pleasure! • A Molecular Marker Set Combining a Retrotransposon Insertion and SSR Polymorphisms Is Useful for Assessing Diversity in Vitis

In the present study, we developed a marker set to differentiate Vitis species, grapevine varieties or clones belonging to the same variety. This novel marker set combines, in four PCR amplifications, the presence/absence of a remarkable retrotransposon, Tvv1-Δ3460, inserted at its single locus and the SSR polymorphism present within its two LTRs. By studying a collection of Vitaceae accessions, we showed the prevalence of two allelic forms of Tvv1-Δ3460 - one of which was partially truncated - in Vitis species. Out of the twenty-five studiedVitis species, the insertion of a Tvv1-Δ3460 element was detected in twenty, including Vitis vinifera. The homozygous vs heterozygous state of the element insertion was determined by amplifying the empty site. Additionally, each Tvv1-Δ3460 LTRs included a microsatellite sequence useful for designing markers based on LTR length. The LTR-SSR markers distinguished most of the fifty-two cultivars and revealed polymorphism within five of the seven varieties studied. • JR-Diffusion-Portfol
BRAND PORTFOLIO When you’re seeking earth’s natural chemistry, microbiology & true love for the fruit in one single wine, your best bet is to turn to small producers. These wine makers have the luxury to craft quality because they don’t cater to mass-market demands. And when you want to reach them, only independent wine merchants will roll up their sleeves to find them for you. When you live in a world overwhelmed by technology, there’s a constant search for simplicity & urge to go back to old, traditional ways. JR Diffusion is exactly that! Based in South of France, we handpick rising Artisan vine growers from surprising “terroirs”. We’re bringing you back the lost origins of French wines & the true meaning of what “terroir” stands for! From sustainable practices to humble farmers that follow early monks’ practices, we work with vine growers that dedicated their life to create wine masterpieces. Dreamers, agronomists, vintners... I spent times in vineyards across France and overseas to unearth “artists vignerons”. The raw experience that comes with soil under your nails is the most authentic knowledge. I have learned their way of growing vines, making wines and drinking `brut de cuve`. This portfolio is promoting years and years of vine growing tradition with the same philosophy; growing organic, biodynamic or natural berries. Why JR Diffusion? It’s wine simplicity. It’s an attitude. It’s harkening back to lost ways of living. It’s a philosophy. Yours & Ours. Sylvain Boutee Marcel Gisclard Vincent Rapin Lionel Faury Clos des Boutes Domaine

  • Pinot Pedigree Diagram
PINOT PEDIGREE DIAGRAM No fewer than 156 western European grape varieties make up this huge pedigree of natural crosses, with savagnin, gouais blanc and pinot playing the major roles. Given the number of varieties that are currently unknown (?), this pedigree is just one of the possible interpretations of all direct parent–offspring relationships that have been discovered by DNA parentage analyses (Pinot and teroldego, which have a grandparent–grandchild relationship, are included to illustrate the unexpected link between Pinot and syrah). It strongly challenges the commonly assumed independent origins of western European varieties and argues in favour of a small core set of founder varieties that have given birth through natural crosses to the significant biodiversity we know today. For the sake of clarity, trebbiano toscano and folle blanche appear twice in the diagram. Gatefold_Pinot.indd 1 23/07/2012 15:10 ? Gänsfüsser ? Chatus ? César ? ? ? Pougnet Sérénèze Furmint ?
