    LCPS Kicks Off Vision 20/20 Strategic Planning Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) launched its Vision 20/20 strategic plan process with a stakeholder work group meeting on December 16th at the School Administrative Offices in Ashburn. At the outset of the meeting, LCPS Superintendent Dr. Eric Williams told stakeholders selected for the session that the School Board has formally commissioned the creation of a strategic plan. This plan is a roadmap to take the school division to the year 2020 and beyond. “During the interview process, the School Board said to me ‘We are incredibly proud of the great work that our students and staff are doing. However, we want to take it to the next level.’ That’s what today is all about.” Williams said the Loudoun community not only wants to know how it can keep the already great things that are happening intact, but how it can move forward. Part of the Vision 20/20 strategic plan and an outcome of the stakeholder workgroup, Williams added, is identifying competencies LCPS students should master for success in the real world and in their future. “What do we want our graduates to know and be able to do?” Ken Kay, the CEO of EdLeader 21, is the facilitator for the stakeholder meetings. (The final stakeholder meetings will be held on February 3rd and February 24th.) EdLeader 21 is a national network of school and district leaders focused on integrating the 4 C’s (critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity) into education. “This is a very positive way of engaging the community in what education ought to be about,” Kay told the stakeholders at the December 16th meeting.

    Loudoun Breast Health Network Annual Report: 2019 & 2020 Mission Statement: The Loudoun Breast Health Network (LBHN) is an all-volunteer, 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization with the mission to assist Loudoun County residents diagnosed with breast cancer through outreach and support. Board Members (2019) President: Susan Mills Co-President: Virginia Minshew Vice President: Tammy Gray Secretary: Susan Mills Treasurer: Lou Ellen Schellenger Members at Large: Marla Sacco Board Members (2020) Vice President: Tammy Gray Secretary: Chantel Smith Treasurer: Lou Ellen Schellenger Members at Large: Marla Sacco, Pam Smith, Jenny Townsend and Alex West Susan Yates Mills (1947-2020) The past year has been difficult for many people for a variety of reasons. This is no different for Loudoun Breast Health Network. In March of 2020 Susan Mills passed away. Susan was a founding member of LBHN who left her mark on Loudoun County in a variety of ways. She served the students and families of Loudoun County for many years as a teacher and administrator. Following her retirement and surviving breast cancer, she became an avid and passionate volunteer in a variety of organizations. In 2007 she helped to establish LBHN and spent the last fourteen years raising funds to assist those in active treatment for breast cancer. She served as both secretary and president of this organization and recruited many to volunteer. Susan was instrumental in recruiting high school groups to help with fundraising. Her desire to help others continues through this organization and by the many lives she touched. LBHN will continue to honor Susan by continuing to focus on our mission and assist those diagnosed with breast cancer through outreach and support.

This Kincora Village Center afternoon, Loudoun County Economic Development announced one of the largest development projects in SVK SAI Child Care the history of Northern Virginia - Rivana at Innovation Station. Rivana is an elevated mixed use Milestone Tower - Rock community with office, residential and retail Ridge High School incorporating the CIT Building in both Loudoun and Fairfax counties. I have been involved in the planning Catholic Church and School stages of this project for several years, and what sets in Fairfax County it apart from other proposals is the major financial backing it has and the top-shelf team behind it, who Greenway Legislation have a track record of delivering projects like this. Signed Into Law This type of project has the potential to attract major corporate tenants and create high quality jobs for our Firearms on County residents - exactly the goal of the Silver Line Property extension.
