End-of-Summer Reading Celebration with Bubblemania! Monday, August 13th @ 4pm @ American Legion 190 Glen Head Rd. Glen Head All Ages. Casey Carle is considered one of the greatest "bubble artists" in the world! During his shows, he creates a plethora of dazzling bubbles in various shapes and sizes, even "trapping an audience member inside a gigantic soap bubble. Humor and audience interaction are part of his charm.” Casey has created bubble routines and scenes for Cirque du Soleil, Bailey's Irish Cream and Pepsi Cola. He's performed at Lincoln Center, on the Discovery Channel and for toymaker Fisher-Price. In addition to his bubble art skills, Casey is also a veteran juggler and mime who clowned for two years with Ringling Bros. Greatest Show on Earth !

Meet the Author Series - Registration Begins Tuesday, June 12th

Rosalie Knecht Thursday, July 19th @ 7pm Rosalie Knecht, author of Relief Map (2016), has just published her second novel Who is Vera Kelly? (2018). It has received excellent reviews and is currently being called a “Most Anticipated Book of 2018” by ELLE, The Huffington Post, Library Journal, Bustle, Book Riot and more. Reviewers agree that the author has created a truly unique heroine in the character of Vera Kelly and has put her own spin on the female-driven spy novel. You don’t want to miss this author visit! After her talk, Rosalie will sign copies of her latest book and take questions from the audience. Light refreshments will be served.

Reduced Fines on Overdue Materials

New, Lower Fines on DVDs and Blu-Rays are Now in Effect!

Fines on New DVDs and Blu-Rays are now fifty cents per day. All others DVDs are now twenty-five cents per day. These were reduced from $1 per day. Please note that the new fine schedule applies only to items that became overdue on May 1st, 2018 or later.

Read-to-Me Kids Club This program is a fun way to introduce reading to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Parents, grandparents, and caregivers read to their children each week; then visit the Library each week to report on their books and receive a prize!

Adult Summer Reading 2018! We invite all adult patrons to participate in this Summer’s 2018 “Libraries Rock!” Reading Challenge. This summer’s challenge will begin on June 15th and end on August 10th. Pick up your postcard at the Library, and after reading a book, come in to get your postcard stamped. Collect five stamps and receive a beach-ready water bottle with lemonade mix inside. As an added bonus, for each stamp you get, you’ll also be entered into a weekly raffle drawing for various prizes donated by local businesses.

The downloadable music service, Freegal, now has a completely redesigned website and mobile app. Gold Coast Public Library cardholders can continue to download up to 5 songs per week and - after July 1st - can also stream up to 3 hours of music each day, from a catalog of millions of songs!
