CHARLES CAROLL (1737-1832) was the sole Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence. JOHN CARROLL (1735-1815) was America’s 1st bishop & cousin of Charles Carroll. The USA’S first diocese was Baltimore, Maryland. .
