This is our first match of the season against The Seasiders, and we make the 160-mile round trip to play the return fixture at Broadclose Park in four weeks’ time on 29th April. In the last two weeks, the First team have drawn one and lost two league matches. In the home 1-1 against Liskeard (report on page 22) we could have lost that match near the end so I reckon one point was better than none! The team put in a good performance at recently-crowned champions Sticker before going down 4-1 to a skilful, powerful side whose progress when promoted next season to the Premier Division will be interesting to follow (report on p. 13). Then on Tuesday evening we lost 4-2 at Wadebridge in a game we might have won with our strong second half show, had we not gifted them virtually all their goals (report on page 7). A special mention to new signing Matt McIlroy who will be a real menace to defences, and to 16-year old Ben Chapman who had a lively last 15 minutes in midfield as substitute, and to another 16-year old Will Trenoweth coming on at centre back for the last seven or eight minutes.

ACADEMY NEWS 24th OCTOBER 2014 Mixxin’ Thru Midnight ACCESS ALL AREAS E X P L O R E BE YOUR BEST Principal’s Report The final week of this half term has been very busy. The Year 11 have been working very hard completing English GCSE Speaking and Listening assessments for their final GCSE grades. In addition, we have had Mock exams in many subjects so that students are getting used to learning for a test situation. I am pleased to report that the Year 11s were exemplary both in terms of preparation for the Mocks as well as taking them extremely seriously. This all bodes very well for the future. 24 Hours of Non-Stop Music And of course we’ve just had 24 hours of non stop music on the campus with some sensational performances from all of our talented performers. We even threw open our doors and had some great entertainment provided from some local primary schools after school before our main event in the evening which featured the awesome “Haunt The Woods” a four piece folk rock band from Saltash, “Broken Down” featuring Mr Floyd, and “Blank Panda” starring our very own guitar and brass teacher Darren Roberts, not to mention over 70 performers from all years and MBA live, which broadcast live on Penwith Radio 96.5 and 97.2 FM throughout the night. Words cannot describe the experience we have all had, but we’re sure the pictures tell their own story, there are over 350 on the website but we have included a few to whet your appetite.

December~ january 2020 The Chinnock chimes New East Chinnock Village Website Launched ! Find it at...www.eastchinnock.net We are delighted to announce the launch of the new East Chinnock village website. We first want to thank Roger and Julie Jewell for all of their time and effort building and maintaining the old website for all these years, and for collecting and collating all the content there. For all the previous visitors to the old website, the same content has been brought across to this new site and we have tried to maintain some of the old structure to the content so it should be easy to find and navigate. For new visitors and for anyone who hasn’t visited the website before, why not make some time and have a look? Some of the highlights include; What’s On: an online village diary for all the events and goings-on in the village. This includes one off events as well as regular reminders. To make it easier, all of the ‘up and coming’ events are also listed on the home page automatically when they are due – (this includes reminding us when the bins are due to go out and which ones!). Just keep an eye on the home page. If you are planning an event in the village, please let us know at [email protected] and we can add it to the village diary. Chinnock Chimes: A whole section exists for the Chimes including all the back issues for the last year. This is a great reference and reminder of what wonderful things the village has been up to.
