NATIONAL PUBLIC SCHOOL, Kengeri, Bengaluru Report On Virtual Rajyotsava Celebration Academic Year 2020 - 21

“Freedom in mind, strength in words, pureness in blood, pride in our souls, zeal in our hearts”, let‟s salute the spirit of . “Happy 2020.”

The vibrant virtual celebration of Kannada Rajyostava was unveiled with the tagline “KARNATAKA PRADESHIKA VAIBHAVA”. A warm welcome speech was presented by the Kannada teacher Ms. Rajeshwari. Kannada HOD Ms.Sudha introduced the Chief Guest for the day.

As the theme was “KARNATAKA PRADESHIKA VAIBHAVA”, the programme was designed to present the culture and tradition of the state. Western Karnataka, was glorified with Power point presentation of the children on famous tourist places, different cultures and the Kings who ruled the reign. Mono acting on Madakarinayaka, and a poem recited on D.V. Gundappa, who was a famous Kannada writer and philosopher received appreciation from everyone.

North Karnataka, the magnificent crown of kannadigas was presented through a Power point presentation on tourists’ places followed by a comedy drama of Tenalirama Krishna and Krishnadevaraya. A student showcased her talent through enacting ‘Harikathe’, which is a well-known act of Karnataka, in which she narrated the story of ‘Athmalinga’.

Later students took us through the Eastern part of Karnataka, in which they enacted a drama of ‘Bharatha and Bahubali’, then a student gave declamation of ‘Savadatti Ellamma’ and a PowerPoint presentation on tourist places was presented.

Lastly students gave a brief introduction of South Karnataka, in which they explained about ‘Gosamrakshana Kendra’ explaining the benefits of local or Indian, cows. Few students beautifully explained about rivers like the Kaveri, the Nethravathi, and the Hemavathi etc. A mesmerizing „Coorg dance’ performance brought smile on everybody’s face. Students showcased their talent through different activities and gave an excellent knowledge of the complete and vibrant state Karnataka.

After this, the Guest for the day Dr. M. R. Nagaraj Rao, who is a well-known Kannada writer, spoke about the importance and beauty of Kannada language. Later Kannada teacher Mrs. Premalatha rendered Vote of Thanks.
