Based on a complaint, the police arrested the petitioner on 10th January 2020, in FIR No. 68 of 2019, dated 25.08.2019, registered under Sections 420, High120-B of Indian Penal Court Code, 1860, (IPC), in Police of Station Nirmand,H.P. BHADRA VOLUNTARY RELOCATION INDIA INDIA FOREWORD During my tenure as Director Project Tiger in the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Govt. of India, I had the privilege of participating in voluntary relocation of villages from Bhadra Tiger Reserve. As nearly two decades have passed, whatever is written below is from my memory only. Mr Yatish Kumar was the Field Director of Bhadra Tiger Reserve and Mr Gopalakrishne Gowda was the Collector of Chikmagalur District of Karnataka during voluntary relocation in Bhadra Tiger Reserve. This Sanctuary was notified as a Tiger Reserve in the year 1998. After the notification as tiger reserve, it was necessary to relocate the existing villages as the entire population with their cattle were dependent on the Tiger Reserve. The area which I saw in the year 1998 was very rich in flora and fauna. Excellent bamboo forests were available but it had fire hazard too because of the presence of villagers and their cattle. Tiger population was estimated by Dr. Ullas Karanth and his love for this area was due to highly rich biodiversity. Ultimately, resulted in relocation of all the villages from within the reserve. Dr Karanth, a devoted biologist was a close friend of mine and during his visit to Delhi he proposed relocation of villages. As the Director of Project Tiger, I was looking at voluntary relocation of villages for tribals only from inside Tiger Reserve by de-notifying suitable areas of forests for relocation, but in this case the villagers were to be relocated by purchasing a revenue land which was very expensive. -
South Indian Cuisine
SOUTH INDIAN CUISINE South Indian Cuisine is a term used to refer to the cuisines found in the four southern states of India, namely Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. As opposed to North Indian cuisine, there is limited use of garam masala and other dried spices except cardamom, black pepper and turmeric. South Indian cuisine is rice based. Rice is combined with lentils to make wonderful dosas, idlis, vadas and uttapams. These items are glorious and delicious besides being nourishing and digestible (due to the fermenting process). They are combined with sambhar (dal), rasam (tamarind dal), dry and curried vegetable and pachadi (yogurt). Their rice preparations are also masterpieces like biryani from Hyderabad, lemon rice and rice seasoned with coconut peanuts, tamarind, chilies, curry leaves, urad dal and fenugreek seeds. South Indian chutneys are made of tamarind, coconut, peanuts, dal, fenugreek seeds, and cilantro. Meals are followed by coffee. South Indian dals and curries are more soupy than North Indian dals and curries. South Indian cuisine is also hotter. Coconut milk straight from the nut is a common beverage and sight in South India. Coffee is very popular in South India and Madras coffee is popular in South Indian restaurants throughout the world. The South Indian food is a brilliant blend of flavors, colors, seasoning, nutritional balance, fragrance, taste, and visual appeal. PARIMARAL - THE SOUTH INDIAN TRADITION OF SERVING A TRADITIONAL MEAL A typical traditional meal in South India is served on a "Vazhaillai", a freshly cut plantain leaf. The Sappad or food that is served on a banana leaf (even the size of the leaf varies from one community to another) is displayed like an identity card. -

HIGH COURT OF KARNATAKA BENGALURU Dated: July 24, 2020 NEW STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE (SOP) – FOR DISTRICT JUDICIARY FROM 27 th JULY 2020 TILL FURTHER ORDERS (IN SUPERSESSION OF EARLIER SOP, ADDENDUM, CIRCULAR AND NOTICES) 1. From 27 th July 2020 till further orders, matters, main or I.A's, fixed for oral arguments and few matters for recording of evidence through video conferencing, preferably the matters where evidence has been partly recorded, shall be listed, i.e., a) Ten cases in the Morning session; b) Ten cases in the Afternoon session. As far as possible, no case shall be heard in absence of Advocates. 2. Only hearing of oral arguments is permitted in physical presence of Advocates. Endeavour shall be made to hear oral arguments by video conferencing whenever it is possible. Only the Advocates representing the parties shall be allowed inside the Court hall during the hearing. No party-in-person shall be permitted to conduct the case by appearing in the Court hall and his/her appearance will only be via video conferencing. If any Advocate who has completed 65 years of age wants to make submissions, video conferencing facility shall be extended to him. 1 3. Any Advocate is at liberty to seek permission for video conferencing which shall be extended and arrangements shall be made. 4. Advocates’ clerks and litigants shall not be permitted entry into the court-hall. 5. Subject to further orders of the High Court, in addition to the hearing matters, cases may be listed for recording evidence preferably in consultation with concerned advocates. -

Bagalkoti Professor, Department of Studies in Economics, Karnataka University, Dharwad, India Abstract: The present study deals with the streeshakti groups in Karnataka, StreeShakthi Groups (SSGs) are formed at the village level to inculcate the savings habit in the members empowering the women economically. About 15 to 20 women members who are from below poverty line families, landless agricultural labourers. The aim of the present paper is reviewing the growth and commenting on the present status of the government sponsored SHGs in Karnataka. The data is compiled from the Statistical Abstracts of Karnataka and Karnataka at a Glance for various years. The data is analyzed using simple statistical tools like growth rates, percentage shares, and ratios. Principal component analysis is employed to construct composite indices of SHG development. The state had formed 1.40 lakh SSGs with a membership of more than 20 lakh women members, the coverage of members was hardly 14% of the eligible population in the state. Introduction Many types of development interventions are implemented through different institutions and agencies. Poverty is still a very huge social malady and in most countries poverty has a significant gender dimension as the work of women is often not accounted for and hence not paid. Therefore, poverty alleviation, through schemes for women empowerment, is expected to strengthen women economically and make their contribution to household income count in the real sense. -

Budapest, November, 2015 CEU eTD Collection Abstract Even more intense than India's ongoing urbanisation is the expectancy surrounding it. Freed from exploitative colonial rule and failed 'socialist' development, it is loudly proclaimed that India is having an 'urban awakening' that coincides with its 'unbound' and 'shining' 'arrival to the global stage'. This expectancy is keenly felt in Mangaluru (formerly Mangalore) – a city of around half a million people in coastal south Karnataka – a city framed as small, but with metropolitan ambitions. This dissertation analyses how Mangaluru's culture of expectancy structures and destructures everyday urban life. Starting from a movement and experience based understanding of the urban, and drawing on 18 months ethnographic research amongst housing brokers, moving street vendors and auto rickshaw drivers, the dissertation interrogates the interplay between the city's regularities and irregularities through the analytical lens of rhythm. Expectancy not only engenders violent land grabs, slum clearances and the creation of exclusive residential enclaves, but also myriad individual and collective aspirations in, with, and through the city – future wants for which people engage in often hard routinised labour in the present. -
Karnataka Cuisine Introduction
KARNATAKA CUISINE INTRODUCTION: The culinary fare offered by Karnataka is quite varied with each region of the state having its own unique flavors. Many factors and influences have contributed to enrich this culinary heritage. Karnataka is also known as the coffee-bowl of India. It is the spice country which produces the best cardamoms, fondly called the queen of spices or gold and black pepper. The cuisine of Karnataka comprises diverse vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisines. The varieties' influence can be found in the food habits of many regions and communities from the three neighbouring South Indian states, as well as the state of Maharashtra to its north. Some typical dishes include Bisi bele bath, Ragi rotti, Akki rotti, Saaru, Vangi Bath, Khara Bath, Kesari Bath, Davanagere Benne Dosa, Ragi mudde, and Uppittu. The famous Masala Dosa traces its origin to Udupi cuisine. Plain and Rave Idli, Mysore Masala Dosa and Maddur Vade are popular in South Karnataka. Coorg district is famous for spicy varieties of pork curries while coastal Karnataka boasts of many tasty sea food specialities. Among sweets, Mysore Pak, Dharwad pedha, Chiroti are well known. Although the ingredients differ from one region to another, a typical Kannadiga Oota (Kannadiga meal) includes the following dishes in the order specified and is served on a banana leaf: Kosambari, Pickle, Palya, Gojju, Raita, Dessert (Yes, it is a tradition to start your meal with a dessert - Paaysa), Thovve, Chitranna, Rice and Ghee. After serving ghee to everyone, one may start the meal. This is done to ensure that everyone seated has been served all the dishes completely. -

The temple is a square building of great dimensions but very plain in design. The original name of the principal deity is said to .have been Rama Priya. According to tradition, Lord Narayana of Melkote appeared in a dream to Sri Ramanuja (the 12th century Vaishnava Saint and propounder of the philosophy of Visishtadvait(!) and said to him that He was awaiting him on Yadugiri Hill. Thereupon, v,:ith the assistance of .Hoysala King Vishnu vardhana (who had received tapta-mudra from Ramanuja and embraced Vaishnavism) he discovered the idol which lay covered by an ant-hill which he excavated and worshipped. This incident is said to have occurred in the month of Tai in Bahudharaya year. A temple \.vas erected for Lord Narayana over the ant-hill and the installation of tlle image took place in 1100 A.D. -
