The month of is a hectic, yet exciting time of the year. Not only is it the start of the MLB , but all of the sports fans get a little bit of something of it from the start of the NBA and NHL seasons and the continuation of the NFL, and MLS seasons. There were 10 teams that were looking to get to the , but only 2 teams have made it. The Los

Angeles Dodgers and the Red Sox. The Red Sox beat teams like the and the Astros to get to the finals.

The Red Sox have had a remarkable going 108-54. They placed 1st in the

American League East Division and hold onto home field advantage for not only the playoffs, but for the World Series which is huge. Having home field advantage is something every team looks for. With the strength of the reserves on their bench and their momentum after winning game 1 of the series 8-4. The Red Sox search for a World Series title for the first time since

2013.

The Dodgers have also had a really good season with a record of 92 wins and 71 losses.

They have vengeance after losing last year’s World Series to the in game 7, 5-1.

They have looked solid this post season and with the power of their , they could win this series. Jaren Hodgson said, “I think the Dodgers have a lot to prove after last year’s series. I believe they have a shot at winning with their pitching staff.” Game 1 and 2 of the World Series took place in Boston, with them holding home field advantage. Boston took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first over the Dodgers and never looked back, they went on to win game one 8-4. Going into game 2, Boston not only had the crowd behind them, but they were also one step closer to the luxury Commissioner's trophy. Boston gained a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second and felt confident about it. LA didn’t want this to set them back and two later, they put up 2 runs to take a 2-1 lead. Boston retaliated and scored 3 runs in the very next inning. Those runs would push Boston to win that game and gain a 2-0 series lead. Game 3 took place in Dodger territory as the Dodgers knew they needed to win this game. This game was different than most MLB games played as this one went an incredible 18 innings. 46 total players played in this game from both teams combined, and 18 total pitchers who threw 514 total pitches. It was a neck ‘n neck game throughout the whole game. In the bottom of the 18th inning, Second basemen, came up to the plate for

Dodgers and a walk off homerun to left field to end the game. The series record is now 2 games to 1, in favor of the Red Sox. Game 4 was truly a great game to watch. There was no score up until the 6th inning where the Dodgers put up 4 runs. Boston answered with 3 runs in their next at bats and that sparked a comeback for them. Boston ended up winning 9-6 this game and took a 3-1 series lead over the Dodgers. Game 5 was Boston’s game to win as in the very first inning they hit a 2- homerun off of Dodgers ace pitcher, . There was seemingly nothing the Dodgers could do to comeback in front of their hometown crowd. Boston won this game 5-1, which also clinched the World Series Championship.

Although the Dodgers couldn’t get vengeance from last year's World Series, they have gained a lot of playoff experience in these two years. Kyle Davanaugh stated, “This is one of the most one-sided World Series I’ve seen in a while. These are two very good teams, but Boston wanted it more.” This is very true because Boston’s players really did have a fire underneath them each game in this series.
