Venkata Rama Rao, R/o Khammam District filed 2nd appeal dated 20-03-2018 which was received by this Commission on 22-03-2018 for not getting the information sought by him from the PIO / O/o The Tahsildar, Nelakondapalli Office, Khammam District-507160.and 1st Appellate Authority / O/o The Revenue Divisional Officer, Khammam District-507001. The brief facts of the case as per the appeal and other records received along with it are that the appellant herein filed an application dated 20-09-2017 under Sec.6(1) of the RTI Act, 2005, before the PIOTSIC seeking the following information: The Public Information Officer has not furnished the sought information to the appellant. Since the appellant did not receive the information from the Public Information Officer, he filed 1st appeal dated 06-01-2018 before the 1st Appellate Authority requesting him to furnish the information sought. The First Appellate Authority through notice No. RTI.C5/163/2017 dated 20-01-2018 posted the first appeal for hearing on 03-02-2018. The appellant stated that as he did not get information from the Public Information Officer, he preferred this 2nd appeal before this Commission requesting to arrange to furnish the information sought by him. Note: This is system generated copy and no signature is required. The 2nd appeal was taken on file and notices were issued to both the parties for hearing on 16-08-2019. On 16-08-2019 the case is called. The appellant is present. The representative of the Public Information Officer, Ch. Ramesh, Girdhavari (Mandal Revenue Inspector) is present. Heard the appellant, representative of the Public Information Officer and perused the records. The appellant submitted that the Public Information Officer did not furnish the sought information to him. He also submitted that he preferred 1st appeal but there was no response. The representative of the Public Information Officer submitted that he has brought the sought information today and handed over the same to the appellant in the presence of Commission. The Commission directed the Public Information Officer to call the appellant to his office, identity the discrepancies if any rectify the same and furnish the sought information to the appellant, within three weeks. With the above direction, the appeal is closed. The results of excavations proved that it was a famous Mahayana Buddhist centre with well-build stupa Vihara - and manufacturing centres or workshops of different sculptures and commodities which catered to the needs of the people.
