The Bakony-Balaton Region is an area bordered by the towns of Tapolca and Sümeg to the west, the town of Várpalota to the east, the village Graceful Landscapes, of Somlószőlős and the town of Zirc to the north, the town of Balaton- kenese to the south-east and the settlements of the Valley of Arts to the south-west. It consists of four large units: Lake Balaton, the Balaton Eternal Memories Uplands, the Bakony Hills and the Somló Area. Although these areas are not entirely part of the Bakony-Balaton Tourism Region, they naturally belong together on the basis of their common characteristics.
