Below are a few suggestions:

1. Ensure regular maintenance on home exterior and landscaping. Maintain front and backyards, mow regularly and keep free from trash, weeds, and overgrown vegeta- tion. 2. Ensure property is free of litter, trash and debris – both for health and sanitation reasons. 3. Think you have some problem trees? Get assistance from a certified arborist who can inspect your trees and tell you if any are hazardous. Hazardous trees should be targeted for pruning or removal. 4. Not sure about a particular tree? Those hanging over your roof, rubbing against gutters or dropping lots of leaves and sticks onto your roof should be pruned. Overhanging branches can provide a ladder for rats and squirrels to get into your roof where they can cause a lot of damage very quickly. Diseased tree limbs are an especial danger during summer storms when they can fall on your home. 5. Wondering who to call? For pruning or tree removal, there are several local tree-care services in the area that can assist.
