news release 720.326.7311 Light rail wire replacement will affect service for RTD’s E, H and R lines this weekend Bus shuttles will be offered between affected stations DENVER (April 23, 2020) – Light rail service on the Regional Transportation District's (RTD) E, H and R lines will be affected beginning Sunday, April 26, at 3 a.m. thru Monday, April 27, at 3 a.m. due to replacement of the Overhead Catenary System (OCS) wire. There will be no service between Yale and Orchard stations on the E Line; no service between Yale and Florida stations on the H Line; and no service south of the Dayton Station. In order to continue providing optimal service to our patrons, crews will be replacing existing wire along portions of the E, H and R lines. The OCS wires deliver power to the light rail vehicles through the pantograph that extends upward from the light rail vehicles and makes contact with the OCS wire. Train riders should plan for additional travel time between affected stations. Bus shuttles will be provided between the stations. Passengers are highly encouraged to wear masks when riding transit. Details of the maintenance work: Sunday, April 26 from 3 a.m. through Monday, April 27, at 3 a.m. Affected stations and bus shuttle boarding locations: • Yale Station – Board at Gate A • Southmoor Station – Board at Gate A • Dayton Station - Board next to platform • Orchard Station – Board at Gate B • Belleview Station - Board at Gate B ABOUT RTD The Regional Transportation District develops, operates and maintains a public transportation system that meets the transit needs of close to 3 million people within an eight-county service area in the Denver Metro region. The agency’s buses, rail lines, shuttles and additional services provide approximately 100 million annual passenger trips.
