2020 ANNUAL REPORT 1 PRESIDENT’S (CHAIRMAN) REPORT is pleased to announce an operating net profit of $453,333 for the year ending 31 October 2020.

Despite the effects of COVID-19 this announcement continues a significant period of financial stability for the Club in posting an operating net profit position for the seventh consecutive year.

In line with the business plan, the Club continues to deliver on its commitment to repay debt to Westpac Bank which is now well below $1 million down from $2.5 million five years ago. We anticipate this debt will be paid in full over the next 2-3 years.

The Club continued its investment into the Redevelopment Project, known as “Building the Blues”, that recently received development approval. We are confident that together with the City of Unley we will secure government funding through COVID stimulus grants towards Stage II to complete the project.

The development incorporates upgraded match day facilities, administration offices, a community hub and elite training facilities that will enable integration of all our football programs. This is a new era for the Club and something we have been relentlessly aiming to achieve for over a decade.

The Club’s commercial strength was maintained throughout the year, with all sponsors continuing their commitment including Morris Finance, Australian Gas Networks (AGN) and Thomas Farms. In addition, we introduced player sponsorship of our senior women resulting in all players being sponsored.

Excitingly, new partnerships have been confirmed for 2021 pointing towards further growth inthe commercial area of the Club.

The stability of membership is a testament to the commitment of our fans, and we look forward to seeing that support continue in 2021 and beyond.

Despite on field results in both our league men and women’s sides we were pleased that 16 men and 13 women made their league debut with many players coming through our pathway programs. We look forward to watching these players secure their position within the league sides.

We thank departing Coach Nathan Grima in a year that was continually disrupted. His commitment to the Club over the last two years was exemplary and we wish him and his family all the best. We also thank other departing coaches for their service to the Club.

Significant credit must be given to the Board and Management particularly in a year where realistic plans had been endorsed only to have COVID-19 throw everything into disarray.

Our members can rest assured that we are committed to continue to work incredibly hard to make sure our strong financial performance continues, and that next year, under Coach Marty Mattner, we continueto improve our squad, develop our own and importantly, chase success.

Jason Kilic PRESIDENT / CHAIRMAN

2020 ANNUAL REPORT 2 CEO’S REPORT We had never been more ready, both on and off field for the start of a Season. COVID-19 delayed that start and along with other factors, subsequently derailed all our 2020 planning. The impact of restrictions presented challenges that most businesses would have not considered and/or been prepared for.

It is a credit to the staff and players who were both flexible and accepting of the new normal. Their ability to adapt to conditions never previously experienced is to be commended.

Despite the difficult economic environment, and implications due to social distancing, we are pleasedto announce our seventh successive operating surplus.

This result once again represents the Club Mission of continuous improvement, coupled with unyielding support, exceptional customer service and conservative expense controls.

We are grateful for the many government subsidies and to the City of Unley for rent and rate relief that assisted us throughout the past year.

Despite this positive result, our biggest strategic challenge awaits us. How we manage it will ultimately define your Club’s off-field future.

The lease on hospitality venue BarZaar expires December 2021. There will be no further right of renewal. The Board must decide whether to relocate the venue or diversify into another business venture(s).

SA Gaming Legislation was recently amended permitting the relocation of gaming machines. The amendments have significant conditions attached and will require much due diligence to receive government approval.

Should an alternate location be identified, then we would expect improved revenue. Unlike other SANFL Clubs, our revenue is primarily derived from football and not gaming related activities.

Despite the exceptional financial support provided by sponsors and members, (enabling us to be the best financially performing SANFL Club in the past seven years) we understand that it is not sustainable to continue to rely on football related revenue.

In this last decade, no other SANFL Club has faced the challenges your Club has had to deal with. We should all be proud knowing that unlike other Clubs, your Club did it without the help of successive SANFL equalisation payments, distribution advances or more recently significant government grants to get us past 30 June this year. Our financial position has been achieved through the assistance of benefactors, sponsors, members, supporters, and hard work.

Success cannot be measured simply in games won or profit generated. Our success is a result of a Club culture that is derived from our vision to be acknowledged in all respects as the premier club of the SANFL both on and off field. continued next page

2020 ANNUAL REPORT 3 CEO’S REPORT continued Furthermore, we recognise that organisations must demonstrate their corporate social responsibility. We continue to raise the bar within the SANFL with the extra work we do in our community.

The Double Blues Go Green initiative started with the removal of bins from team member’s desks and establishing a centralised three bin system. The initiative has grown and continues to evolve to the point that we attracted the attention of Green Industries (GISA). The Club has been selected to be part of the State Government’s Plastic Free Precinct - the first football club in Australia!

Next season we will work closely with GISA and Waste SA to reduce landfill by monitoring, separating, and weighing match day waste. We will use data to further improve our environmental footprint.

We are also working closely with the Salvation Army and the City of Unley to introduce the first homeless laundry project that will be run out of football change rooms. Homelessness is a growing problem within our community. Board and management are determined that the Club provide support where it can.

In a year where it would not be unreasonable to expect a significant decline in sponsorship, this was not the case. We are grateful to all our sponsors and encourage supporters to support those who support the Club. A special thank you to Morris Finance Ltd, Australian Gas Networks and Thomas Farms.

Members are the custodians of a Club steeped in history and tradition. Membership enables us to grow the next generation of South Australian footballers. It is the lifeblood of any sporting organisation. We thank our Members for acknowledging their Blue Genes and investing in the Club.

I am grateful for the people I have the privilege to work with, the players, and the Board. I will fondly remember Phil Stone, Membership Services Officer who died earlier this year. Phil was the ultimate gentleman, a Sturt man. He left a positive impression on all who met him.

So, what about the football, I hear you say?

I am confident the people we have in place will successfully implement Marty Mattner’s game plan, across all grades.

The off-field excitement is building with the signing of new and old players. Pre-season training is in full swing and full of vigour as players look to secure their spot in the sides.

There is so much to look forward to and I for one cannot wait for Season 2021.

Sue Dewing CEO

2020 ANNUAL REPORT 4 FOOTBALL MANAGER’S REPORT Season 2020 was a very difficult one which very nearly didn’t even happen. After a strong pre-season the SANFL competition was put on hold after our first trial game due to COVID-19 issues.

Players and staff were stood down for 6 weeks while most of the world went into lockdown. After a lot of work behind the scenes a return to training under strict protocols was granted and the season eventually began in late June in a shortened 14 round format.

It can be difficult to judge a season such as 2020 as we have never seen anything like it before but ultimately you play for team success and to play and win finals. After an inconsistent year the League men finished in 6th position with a 5-9 record.

The season saw many challenges with a number of injuries due to the interrupted pre-season. While this made consistent performance difficult to achieve it did allow for younger players to debut and fast track their development. 40 players represented Sturt at League level this season with 16 of those players making their League debut for the club.

Sustained success of the Senior and Junior programs is difficult to achieve and wouldn’t be possible without the direction and support of the Board, in particular Jason Kilic as President and Chris Thredgold as Football Director. Jason and Chris are a fantastic support for the football department and lead us in a positive direction as we strive for continuous improvement.

The Senior coaching group led by second year Senior Coach Nathan Grima worked hard to provide a quality learning and playing environment. Nathan was well supported by League assistants Russell Godson (midfield), Alex Guy (defence) and Michael Wundke (forwards).

The strength and conditioning program was once again headed up by Hayden Conlay with assistance from Mark Theron and Blake Ashby. Hayden also acted as runner for the season. Brett May stepped up from the Reserves and took on the bench coach role. His knowledge of the rotation system and ability to adjust in high pressure situations was excellent.

I again thoroughly enjoyed coaching the Reserves squad. The group are young and talented and were able to progress to the First Semi Final which bodes well for an exciting future for the club. A big thank you must go to Nick Paech-Hone (midfield), James Treagus (forwards) and Todd Boughen (defence) who acted as assistant coaches and to Brett May (bench coach) and Corey Knight (runner) who all provided excellent support for myself and the players. continued next page

2020 ANNUAL REPORT 5 FOOTBALL MANAGER’S REPORT continued Volunteers are the lifeblood of football clubs and I am proud to say that we continue to have a high-quality team of support staff at Sturt. Many thanks must go to Rick Szabo (training services coordinator), David Peacock (League/Reserves team manager), Don Caputo (League/Reserves team manager), Lorraine Smith (statistician), Olivia Champion (GPS staff), Isaac McKenzie (GPS staff), Ben Reynolds (performance analyst), Rachel Danaher (performance analyst), Chris Ward (League timekeeper), Cathy Benfield (Reserves timekeeper), Peter Aldridge (water steward), Roen Duncan (water steward) and Brenton Forsyth(ball steward) who volunteered their time and helped the players to achieve their goals.

The Sturt Women’s team played their third season in the SANFLW competition which was disrupted by the COVID break. Bruce Dawes had his first season as Women’s Senior Coach and he did an excellent job with a young and enthusiastic group.

The team has developed a strong culture and we look forward to seeing them continue to develop and push for a finals spot in 2021. The program was well organised by Michael Higgs (Women’s Football Manager) who dedicated a lot of time and effort into what was a challenging year.

David Oatey (U18s) and Michael Higgs (U16s) once again coached the Sturt youth teams and they along with a strong team of assistant coaches continue to do a brilliant job of fostering the young talent in our promotional zone.

It was fantastic to see a talented U18s team play off in a this season and we look forward to seeing many of these young players progress through the ranks in future years.

2021 brings with it a new season and great expectations from a young and talented Senior playing group. The club have appointed a new Senior Coach in Marty Mattner who has tasted Premiership success at Sturt in 2016 and 2017 as well as recent experience at AFL level as an assistant coach with the Crows. Marty is excited by the opportunity and keen to develop a talented young group who are hungry for success.

We had some key retirements in 2020 including past Premiership players Sam Colquhoun, Tom Harms and Byron Sumner. We thank them for their great contribution to the club and wish them all the bestin retirement.

Pre-season will be upon us soon where our focus will be on the development of our next crop of Premiership players who will wear the Double Blue guernsey with pride.

Chris Trapp FOOTBALL MANAGER

2020 ANNUAL REPORT 6 HIGH PERFORMANCE MANAGER’S REPORT Season 2020, one we will not forget! 71 players were invited and attended training post

Christmas. Four players played every game (Will Spain, Jordan Opperman, Aiden Holland and

Ned Grieve), we played 51 players in the U18 minor and major round (+1 player, Amos Doyle ended up playing reserves after doing the U18 preseason), 2 U19s, 27 U18s, 18 U17s, 4 U16s.

We had 260 hours of physical training, 20 hours of video review, 36 hours of game time, won 11 games and lost 6 games, finished minor premier and won a final and finished second at seasons end.

We started with 14 staff and finished with 13 after the pandemic shut down. I want to say a huge thank you to the staff who accepted no payment once covid hit.

It is a huge sacrifice to help a group of young men for free when illness was an issue and society was struggling financially and all we could offer was the chance to help improve 71 strangers - or as I call them, driven young men who were keen to excel in the sport of their choice. The staff were superb and never complained.

A huge thank you to Paul Scott (forwards coach), Kane Paues (midfield coach), Chris Brown (midfield assistant), Scott Tidemann (defenders coach), Bailey Hough (strength and conditioning coach), Sam Spain

(runner and big person coach), Todd Sibbin (bench coach and team communication analyst), Tamara Lane

(head trainer), Raelee Oatey (trainer), Nick Swingler (medical coordinator), Paul O Callaghan (physiotherapist),

Steve Rechner (team manager) and Michael Higgs (talent manager) for all their time, effort and care for the players and club.

Personally, it was a thoroughly rewarding season, this group of staff and players made it a fantastic season. If you said to me in November 2019 that we would have two pre-seasons, finish top after a 14 round season and get to play in a Grand Final I would have laughed but now it has happened I am so proud of the whole group and the way they trained and played and represented Sturt.

I would like to thank the Sturt board and in particular Chris Thredgold and Jason Kilic for their strong leadership in this tough year. Also, to the SANFL and Sue Dewing for accessing JobKeeper and as a result ensuring the season was completed. Thanks also to Chris Trapp and Michael Higgs for all their support, they have given a huge amount more than the JobKeeper minimum requirement and I am in awe of their work capacity and care for the club and players. continued next page

2020 ANNUAL REPORT 7 HIGH PERFORMANCE MANAGER’S REPORT continued I am so thankful to the leaders - Ned Walter (Captain), Zabien Parker-Boers, Zac Grivell, Mani Liddy, Mal

Carruthers, Ned Grieve and Lachie Thomas for all their help. They did a great job during the covid break making sure the players stayed focussed on their individual training and once we resumed they all did a great job caring for the 70 other players and looking after them in a tough environment.

Sturt has a different zone make up than most other clubs, 71 players seems a lot for an elite program but I hope we all understand how we need to work with the college system and try and provide an enjoyable environment for all players even though 50% of our players need to leave and play college.

This year with the shortened season meant that our list was too large and 20 players missed out on a game but the leaders did a great job making those players still feel a strong link with the team.

Thanks to the parents, their support this year was outstanding. They were great supporters at games and if I had calls they were always polite and understanding and I know your sons are such a great group because of the fine leadership you give them every day.

Our aims for 2020 were:

1. To make SANFL or AFL players

2. Help players be as good as they can be

3. Win games of footy and enjoy playing the game

I hope players, staff and parents enjoyed the year, I feel like we have worked hard and many have achieved some or all of the goals we started out with. Some goals will only be ticked off in the future but I am sure that playing so well and winning so many games this year was enjoyable and the players did this as well as working on a skill set that will hold them in good stead for the future.

Even though we did not win the Grand Final, there were so many great moments every week and so many players improved so quickly. Rome was not built in a day, but the players have laid a great foundation for their future this year. I hope we are all proud of the effort and skill that was on display every week over the 49 week season.

It was a difficult year that elicited some outstanding results. We thank all the players for their efforts this year and look forward to seeing some of this group progress to senior football.

David Oatey HIGH PERFORMANCE MANAGER

2020 ANNUAL REPORT 8 CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE MANAGER’S REPORT Season 2020 has thrown up plenty of challenges and saw a number of our programs modified.

The Under 16’s season began as a normal season before being cancelled after round 2 due to Covid-19. There were 108 players invited to trial in the Pre-Christmas, five-week period. Of those 108 players 86 trialled and 45 were chosen for the 2020 U16 squad including 12 Under 15 players.

Over the shortened season we saw a vast improvement and growth in both the playing and coaching group. When the season finished, we had a 2-0 Win/Loss record, which was a great achievement.

Due to COVID there was no State Team however player Oliver Britten-Jones represented the club in the Under 17’s Futures State Game. This is a tremendous effort as this game is comprised of mainly Under 17 players.

I had great support from my coaching team and would like to thank them, Greg Crowden, Tully Kennett, Nigel Grivell, Sam Spain, Gary Mutton, Chris Brown, Bailey Hough, Tom Read and Scott Vears did a wonderful job and I thoroughly enjoy working with them. I would like to make a special mention of Tamara Lane who has done a wonderful job as our Centre of Excellence Head Trainer once again going above and beyond what is expected of her.

Our Development Squads looked very different this year. We ran a seven-week training period for 126 Metro and Country zoned Under 15 players before finalising a squad of 40 for each zone in the Under 15 Carnivals.

Our metro team performed very well and finished with a 2-1 Win/Loss record. The country team played well in two of the three games. Thank you to Tamara Lane, Nick Swingler and Raelee Oatey who looked after the medical side of the program and to Gary Mutton, Paul Harris, Cooper Hough, Oliver Small, Greg Crowden, Scott Vears, Zac Milbank and David Oatey who coached the program.

Our Under 13 and Under 14 Male Development Squads and our Under 15 and Under 18 Female Development Squads were run as holiday clinics in the September School Holidays.

During the three days we saw over 200 of our best players within our zone enjoy themselves training. Several players got their first experience of our great facilities here at Sturt.

I would like to further thank Nick Swingler, David Oatey, Cooper Skinner, Paul Greaves, Lachlan Paddick, Jackson Lane, Lucy Griffith, Hannah Prenzler, Maya Rigter and Chris Brown for taking time off work to come and help our younger players.

Michael Higgs CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE MANAGER

2020 ANNUAL REPORT 9 WOMEN’S FOOTBALL REPORT Bruce Dawes took control of the SANFLW side for his first year. We saw huge improvement in the four games Pre-Covid. We were 2-2 and sitting fourth on the ladder. The season was then paused. When we returned it was tough on all involved, as strict hygiene protocols were followed and training was different as you could only train with the same group of 10 players each night. Things slowly began to become the new normal and eventually proper training and games began.

In the recommencement we saw all the other clubs get stronger with the addition of AFLW players to their squads. We fought valiantly for the remaining six games and managed a draw against Norwood.

It was a very long SANFLW season as the players essentially had two pre-seasons and two short seasons. I would like to congratulate all players and staff involved as the Covid-19 rules made everything much more difficult. A huge thank you to Bruce Dawes, Jackson Lane, Michael O’Connor, Fabian Muller, Nikki Moore and Cass Kell who were involved for the whole program. I would also like to thank and acknowledge Patrick (Pat) Sim who was also involved for the whole season. Pat is moving on to coach Uraidla for season 2021. He has been here since the beginning of the women’s program and has been a wonderful coach, mentor and person to have involved at the club. We wish Pat all the best in the future. I would also like to thank Dr. David Bentley, Matt Lynn, Sophie Horlin-Smith and Aslito May who could not continue on in the second part of the season due to other commitments.

We had 51 players involved in the program and had 14 players debut. We have continued to get a number of games into players aged 16-20 and these players will be the core that will take us forward for 10 plus years. Three of these players were recognised as round winners of the Powerade Breakthrough Player Award. Congratulations to Izzy Kuiper, Tiah Hough and Kiera Mueller.

Our for 2020 was won by Zoe Prowse who also took home the and Best 21 and Under Awards. Zoe was also our sole representative in The Advertiser SANFLW Team of the Year. Runner-up Best and Fairest was won by Georgia Bevan and Amy Brooks-Birve won the Most Improved Award. It was a wonderful night as it was the first time the count was run in conjunction with the P.T. Morton Medal. Thank you to all involved for making this happen.

My final acknowledgement for the SANFLW is to our leadership group. In what has been a difficult year these six players were incredible. Maya Rigter and Georgia Bevan our Co-Captains along with Lane Trenorden, Kate Harris, Brooke-Lee Chaplin and Hannah Prenzler made sure the playing group were going well on the field but most importantly with the circumstances everyone found themselves in, that everyone was feeling safe and happy in life outside of footy.

I would like to thank the Sturt Football Club for having me on board for my fourth year. This year has certainly been the toughest and I hope we never have to face anything like this again. I cannot thank the Sturt Football Club and the Board enough for making sure football continued in 2020 even if it was in a limited capacity. I look forward to coming out the other side of this pandemic into 2021 with a better program than ever before.

2020 ANNUAL REPORT 11 DOUBLE BLUES GO GREEN Sturt Football Club has become the first football club in Australia to commit to going plastic free. The Club has been designated a plastic-free precinct after the State Government initiative was announced last year.

Last year, dual premiership player, and environmentalist Matt Crocker requested a bin be made available in the change rooms specifically for single-use plastics.

With over 250 males and females involved in the Club’s football programs the amount of single use plastic used to wrap playing kits was, for Crocker, concerning. He took it upon himself to personally collect the soft plastics and dispose of it in Redcycle bins.

At the same time CEO, Sue Dewing, who is also an Elected Member for the City of Unley, was concerned at the amount of waste the Club produced, particularly on match days, and wanted to take steps to address the issue in a meaningful way.

Initially all bins were removed from desks to create a four-bin central location including landfill, recycles, soft plastic and compostable. This was then implemented into the change room areas.

We have transitioned our food and beverage operations to recyclable and compostable products and continue to apply pressure on our suppliers and third-party vendors to support the Double Blues Go Green in changing their packaging to environmentally friendly products.

The Club met on several occasions with Green Industries South Australia to discuss strategies around waste minimisation and successfully applied for a Valuing Business Waste Assistance Grant. The Grant has enabled us to engage with Waste SA Reduction who will assist at 2021 home games to establish a baselineof performance relating to waste material.

The Grant will further provide an independent review of all our waste management practices where we will receive expert advice on increasing resource recovery, landfill diversion and implement circular economy practices.

As an iconic South Australian sporting Club synonymous with the City of Unley having been residents of Unley Oval since 1901, we have an important role to play within this community and Double Blues Go Green is just another example of that understanding.

2020 ANNUAL REPORT 12 CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY Sturt Football Club’s primary responsibility is to create a pathway for talented players within a safe and inclusive environment, while ensuring the Club is economically and legally sound.

Increasingly sporting Clubs are facing pressure from stakeholders to devote resources to activities beyond their immediate capacity. Clubs must be seen to be socially responsible and conduct activities that have a meaningful impact within their community.

Social responsibility has evolved from a charitable or philanthropic activity to a core element in management strategy with the understanding that socially responsible activities can add value to a Club. Improving reputation, brand loyalty, competitive advantage and improved financial performance are some ofthe benefits a Club can realise through this approach.

Furthermore, Clubs that practice social responsibility can positively influence government (local, state, federal) decisions relating to future development and grant funding.

The Club recognises that it is in a distinctive position to generate social capital and help build social networks. Our work in the community include but are not limited to:

 Player Fund:

 Enable disadvantaged players from within our zone to participate in all our programs

 Reimburse regional families travel expenses to Unley Oval

 Salvation Army Programs:

 Red Shield Door Knock Appeal

 Christmas Giving Tree located at Unley Shopping Centre

 Provide 250 puddings for Christmas Lunch

 Weekly use of Club change rooms providing laundry and shower facilities for the homeless

 Regular maintenance works conducted in and around Unley Oval by volunteer group “The Baggies”

 Purchase junior guernseys on behalf of zone clubs affected by the 2019 bushfires

 Participate and/or donate to charity at fund raising events including:

 Ronald McDonald House - McHappy Day

 Variety SA

 Hutt Street Centre - Walk a Mile in my Shoes continued next page

2020 ANNUAL REPORT 13 CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY continued

 Provide Adelaide Hills CFS units with complimentary home match day tickets and drink cards for the 2020 season

 Provide employment and work experience opportunities to students in the Youth Inc. program

 Provide Gold Foundation (support for Asperger’s) with complimentary match day tickets in exclusive area where the children feel comfortable and safe

 Provide Glenside Mental Health with complimentary match day tickets

 Provide local schools and kindergartens with promotional footballs and coaching programs

 Provide new citizens with Club membership and promotional footballs

 Host annual multicultural round during SANFL season

 Implement the Double Blues Go Green waste minimisation initiative

In addition, the Club assists the SANFL with its many charitable activities, often held outside of match days.

This mostly requires player involvement which can be difficult due to study or work commitments, however the Club always manages to help when asked.

Sport has the power to change society and the activities through which social change occurs have the potential to enhance our Club’s performance and competitiveness. This is not a temporary direction of the

Club and will continue to broaden the scope of our existing social responsibility to the community.

2020 ANNUAL REPORT 14 IN MEMORIAM

JAMES ‘GUS’ HUNTER The Club advises that past player # 559 James ‘Gus’ Hunter passed away Saturday 18 January 2020 aged 89 years.

Growing up in Blackwood, at age 21 years Gus was invited by to train with Sturt. Starting as a half forward he would play most of his games at half back.

Gus played 149 league games from 1952 – 1961. While not a successful era for the Club, Gus nonetheless relished playing football with the likes of and .

After retiring from league football, he was player coach at then senior coach at Blackwood winning two premierships.

Gus was a regular spectator at Unley Oval and would often step onto the oval to remember days gone by.

Rest in peace. PHIL STONE The Club is saddened to advise the sudden passing of off-field team member Phil Stone.

Phil, was a Life Member, Vice President, SANFL Service Award recipient and former Board Member.

Over the past decade he managed Sturt’s Membership Services. In 2017 he also took over the running of the Club’s merchandise.

Phil was a kind, polite, friendly, humble and generous man. He was known for his humour, and work ethic. He rated raising children and grandchildren into the Sturt fold as his proudest achievement.

Most members and supporters would have interacted with him when visiting the Club or attending games.

Phil’s family and work colleagues are understandably devastated. GET INVOLVED

Glenelg handled the wet and boggy conditions better than the Blues in the first quarter and led by 14 points at the first break. Sturt came back in the second quarter kicking 3.2 to the Tigers 1.2 with Malcolm Greenslade kicking all 3 of the Blues goals and at half time the lead was reduced to 2 points. At half time made a number of positional changes and the Blues then gained control of the match in the third quarter, kicking 4.4 to 1.2 and in front by 18 points at the last change. Considering the wet conditions it looked very much like it would be five in a row for the Double Blues, but Glenelg fought out the last quarter, but just couldn’t reduce the margin and with Sturt scoring 4.3 to the Tigers 4 straight goals the Double Blues ground out a hard fought 21 point win. Better players were big game performer who was best on ground, full forward Malcolm Greenslade with 6 goals, rover Roger Rigney, Peter Endersbee in the forward pocket and on the ball along with back pocket Brenton Adcock.
