Manager Sharon Robinson, Office Manager Samantha Edwards, Sports Club Manager 4 President’s Report It is hard to reflect on our 2012 season without dwelling on the last game of the year, but that would be undervaluing what we achieved in the past year because of one gut-wrenching afternoon. Scott West, in first year as a Senior Coach, has set himself and this club a benchmark of performance on and off the field that is to be admired. His ability to gel the playing group behind his vision and plans was a standout of the season and provides a foundation for success, both now and into the future. The players embraced his game plan and flourished, exemplified by Ben Ross and Kyle Hartigan – one a Liston Trophy winner, the other on an AFL list after three years in our system. Scott did not run a one man band, however, and his assistants made valuable contributions to the football program, with Chris Gilham taking his Development side to the final four as well. Like the playing list, our coaching staff has seen some arrivals and departures in the off season. Wade Chapman, Leigh Harding, Danny Warren and Frank Fopiani are no longer with us and we welcome Jarrod Moore, Keenan Reynolds, Scott Korczynski, Michael Pisani and Tim Ruffles, with two more to be added. I have every reason to believe we are going into the new season in great shape on field. Our alignment with North Melbourne continues to enhance both football clubs. The exchange of ideas and information extends beyond the playing arena and allows both clubs to bring community programs to the City of Wyndham. We look forward to working with new CEO Carl Delina and the team at the Kangaroos. Our social venue, the Tigers Clubhouse, continues to be a top class venue for patrons and a well run and operated arm of the Werribee Football Club. My thanks go to Rhys and his dedicated team and to the Board of the TCH. Increased competition in the area from new venues is presenting challenges and everyone is determined to see the Tigers Clubhouse continue to be a premier hospitality venue in the City of Wyndham. We are negotiating with the management company of the Clubhouse with a view to some major improvements to the property. When – and how – this project will occur will be decided sooner rather than later. As I enter my eighth year as President I want to thank those on the Board for their support, work and dedication. The responsibilities that come with being on the Board are vast and the time commitment is great. It is a selfless task but one that is greatly appreciated by everyone involved at the club. I acknowledge our club patron Julia Gillard, the Prime Minister of Australia, who is generous with her time and support when her schedule allows. We are proud to have Julia in that role, as we are of Merv Hughes and Russell Mark our number one ticket holders. Just when I think Mark Penaluna can’t do more, he does. Mark is the consummate CEO who is across every aspect of the club and is not frightened to get his hands dirty, sometimes too much. His dedication and work ethic is unsurpassed and the club has a lot to thank him for. Our Football Operations Manager Stuart Balloch is cut from the same cloth as Mark and together they are a formidable team that steers our club in the right direction. Chris Gallagher is now full time as Club Community Development Manager, a role that other VFL clubs are “borrowing” from our model. In fact, we are expanding further by appointing one of our players to a part time role running our 5 schools program. This kind of initiative and vision makes the Werribee Football Club a leader in the competition. Sharon Robinson, our Office Manager, is another integral part of our organization, as is our Media Manager Kevin Hillier. We have a small staff but the quality is sublime. To our sponsors I say thanks for continuing to show your support in a way that allows us to run our football club as a robust competitor in the second highest competition in the country. I want to especially thank Ballan Holden for being our major sponsor for what is now 14 years. The Ballan family is a very important part of the Werribee Football Club. Our relationship with all levels of Wyndham Council continues to grow and produce a facility and ground that everyone can be proud of, and that the community has access to and ownership of. Structure 1.1 FFV VIPS FFV BOARD OF DIRECTORS PRESIDENT Tony Dunkerely Tony’s professional background includes board experience, both as Director and Chair of various professional and international committees and life membership to a range of sporting institutions. Tony has also enjoyed global business experience across Asia and Europe; experience in the research, development and implementation of a range of business strategies and plans aligned with quality, safety and benchmarking practices. Tony has signifi cant em- ployee relations experience; together with sound fi nancial acumen and management, particularly in the fi eld of return on investment and customer service. Through out his time in football, Tony has coached extensively through out the sport, including at the state team level. DIRECTORS Chris Nikou Chris Nikou has been involved in football for over 30 years observing and engaging the issues that affect the various stakeholders that comprise football in Victoria. Chris has played both junior and senior football in the state league and been involved at club level as Secretary and President. He is also a former member of the Appeals Board Tribunal and has since December 2003 been a Director of FFV. Chris is currently a Senior Partner at national law fi rm Middletons. He is the National Head of Corporate and Commercial and specialises in franchising law, mergers and acquisitions. Mark Trajcevski Mark is a Director at a global professional services fi rm specialising in risk management, governance, board effectiveness, fi nancial management and audit. Mark has formerly held the position of Honorary Treasurer.

    Redland Football Club Recruiting Package 2012 “See the Bombers fly up” www.redland.aflq.com.au A Brief History The Redland Bombers entered the new millennium with a position in the premier competition of Australian Rules football in Queensland – AFL Queensland‟s State League. This elevation came after consecutive premierships in the Brisbane Australian Football League in 1998 and 1999. Since the Club‟s inception into the State League, the Bombers have evolved into a prominent football identity within both the Redland Shire and South-East Queensland. The ongoing development of local players competing at higher levels all across Australia highlights the talent of young and up- and-coming players within the local community. The Club now competes in the newly formed NEAFL competition, which was launched in 2011 and includes teams from the Queensland State League, the Northern Territory, the AFL NSW/ACT State League, as well as the four northern AFL sides – Brisbane Lions, Gold Coast Suns, Sydney Swans and Greater Western Sydney Giants. The Sharks Sporting Club The Victoria Point Sharks Sporting Club Inc. is the parent body of the Redland Bombers Australian Football Club. The Sporting Club currently has a membership base of over 10,000 members, with this figure growing at a rapid rate. The Sporting Club assists the Football Club in terms of resources and funding. The Sporting Club consists of a gaming lounge, restaurant, three bars, a Sportsmen‟s bar with TAB facilities, a courtesy bus for members, a bottle shop, a lounge featuring free live entertainment, and a new state of the art multi-million dollar function room.

Coincidentally, I joined AFL Tasmania as a Director at virtually the same time Andrew became Chief Executive and during my seven years as Chairman of AFL Tasmania our team has worked very closely with Andrew, Gillon McLachlan and other members of the AFL executive management team. The facts speak for themselves; Andrew Demetriou has been an outstanding national leader of our game and in my opinion he has also provided exceptional support and advice to Tasmanian football through AFL Tasmania. The first time I met with Andrew he was very clear about the fact that the AFL must prioritise its development activities in Queensland and New South Wales. The growth of the game in these two northern states will ultimately be to the benefit of a traditional football state such as Tasmania.
