She was 52. Ms. Crough had appeared only in a Barbie commercial before she was cast on “The Partridge Family,“ which debuted on ABC in 1970. Her character sang backup vocals, played the tambourine and set up punch lines for her older co-stars Danny Bonaduce and David Cassidy. The cast also included Brian Forster, Susan Dey and Shirley Jones, as the widowed mother of the children, and Dave Madden, who played the group´s manager. After the show went off the air in 1974, Ms. Crough appeared in the 1977 drama series “Mulligan´s Stew“ on NBC and in the Academy Award-winning short film “Teenage Father“ in 1978. Her last credited role was in the television movie “Children of Divorce“ in 1980. He invites them aboard, but warns if they enter the Nautilus, they will not be free to leave. The submarine is a marvel of technology, with electricity harnessed for use on board. Nemo provides his guests diving suits equipped with oxygen for exploration of die dazzling undersea world. Aronnax learns Nemo was destined to be the king to lead his people into the modern scientific world, but was forced from his land by enemies. Now, he is hoping to halt shipping between the United States and Europe as a way of regaining his throne. Ned makes several escape attempts, but Sophie and her father find the opportunities for scientific study too great to leave. Sophie rejects Nemo's marriage proposal calling him selfish. He shows his generosity, revealing gold bars he will drop near his former country for pearl divers to find and use to help the unfortunate.

Questionnaire respondents were mainly parents of children ages 2 -6; mothers outnumbered fathers -9:1. Results included the findings that children watched TV an average of three hours a day; this varied little throughout the country and between those viewing Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and those .watching commercial programs. Younger children preferred the former, older the latter. Parents gave overwhelming support to PBS, especially to Sesame Street, Mister Rogers and Electric Company, rating these superior to their commercial competitors. Ninety-six percent of the parents favored changing practices regarding commercials on children's TV, with 40% wanting their elimination, 25% a reduction, and 25% a clustering of commercials at the end of .programs. Annoyance was expressed over toy commercials and the quality of the toys themselves. Most parents felt TV was influential; they thought TV, especially PBS, taught communication skills, enhanced ,social learning and broadened interests. They also felt TV. had too much violence and materialism and that certain programs could foster passivity and anti-social behavior.
