Or was He born there that ArchbiShoP of He might come to be born somewhere far closer? A DeceMber 6 If Christmas is the time that God chose to come close to us, then Bethlehem must also be somewhere very close to us. Where is Bethlehem?

It is not very far away from us at all. Bethlehem is your heart and my heart. This is where Jesus came to be born. This is where He wants to be born. This is where He wants to live to bring us new life, the very life of God. If Christ, a thousand times in Bethlehem to be born and not in your heart and in my heart, then we have missed the whole meaning of Christmas.

Where is Bethlehem? Saint Nicholas lived during the reign of Saint , and reposed in 3 30. As a y oung man, he desi red to es - “Behold I stand at the door and knock. Greek Orthodox Cathedral Senior Choir Fund.

At each of the Hours, one of the three fixed Psalms is re - placed by a Psalm that is significant to the Feast being cel - ebrated; the Troparion and Kontakion of the day are replaced by numerous chanted hymns; and each Hour has an Old Testament reading, a Prokeimenon, and an Epistle and a Gospel.

The Feast of Pentecost was a fourth time during the year when the Service of Royal Hours was celebrated in the early Church, however this service has not come to wide usage in the Church.

Each Hour commemorates a special event. First Hour (6:00 a.m.), thanksgiving for the new day and prayers to maintain a sinless day. Third Hour (9:00 a.m.), the descent of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. Sixth Hour (12:00 noon), the hour at which Christ was nailed to the Cross. Ninth Hour (3:00 p.m.), the death of Christ on the Holy Cross.

We will be celebrating the Service of Royal Hours for the Nativity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, De - cember 24, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Please come and join us for this beautiful and very moving service.
