Media partners of the Austrian Cultural Season in Russia 2013/14 HEINZ FISCHER Russia and Austria are linked not just by an eventful poli- tical history, but also by one of mutual cultural exchange. Federal President That exchange has intensified remarkably in recent years, of the Republic of Austria and both countries are getting to know each other even better through their rich and diverse cultural output. More than ever before Austrian artists are being invited to concerts, exhibitions and festivals. In return, Austria’s cultural scene is benefiting from Russian creatives in all the arts. Against this backdrop I am delighted that over the period 2013/2014 a wide-ranging spectrum of Austria’s cultural activities is to be showcased in Russia as part of the Austrian season of culture. Greetings & Many of Austria’s major cultural institutions such as the Albertina and Vienna’s Burgtheater will feature with guest performances in Russia, some after a long spell Forword away, and others for the first time ever.
