Curriculum Margarete Babinsky, Pianist
Curriculum Margarete Babinsky, Pianist „The middle course is the only one that does not lead upward!“ That quotation from Joan of Arc perfectly fits the career of the pianist Margarete Babinsky. Whilst still studying, prizes at numerous national and international competitions, specially in Great Britain, Italy and the USA, enabled her to begin extensive concert activities. They led to engagements with most of the leading concert organizers in Austria, Belgium, Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, Moldavia, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Egypt, Marroco, Israel, Senegal, East Africa, China, Japan, Brazil and the USA. The pianist was invited to make solo apperances with well known orchestras such as the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra, the Lower Austria Orchestra, the Budapest Symphony, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra and Chamber Philharmonic, the Vienna Volksoper Chamber Orchestra, the BBC Welsh Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre d’ Auvergne, the Bohuslav Martinu Philharmonic, the Azerbaijan Philharmonic and the Cairo Symphony Orchestra. Most notable among the numerous conductors with whom Margarete Babinsky has worked are Lord Yehudi Menuhin and Vladimir Fedosejew. Margarete Babinsky was born in Vienna. She studied at the Vienna University of Music and the Salzburg Mozarteum with teachers including Renate Kramer-Preisenhammer, Michael Krist, Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and Rudolf Kehrer. Her outstanding training and exeptional talent have enabled her to make a name for herself performing standard and contemporary piano literature. Herdiscography represents every facet of the repertoire. Her very first CD recording of works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart received the „Wiener Flötenuhr“ award from the Mozart societey of Vienna in 1999. -
