A county of stunning coastline, rich countryside and canals that cut through historic cities and industrial towns, Lancashire is a place of unique contrasts and credibility. It is home to the UK’s first mass leisure resort as well as its oldest continual festival. It originated the Spinning Jenny in the nineteenth century and the jet engine in the twentieth century, and, where once the industrial spirit and passion of its people brought cotton and textiles to the world, they now attract international renown for their research into new and emerging technologies and Michelin stars and awards for their world class food and drink. We are incredibly proud of Lancashire’s culture. As a sector, culture and the arts attract over £7 million investment from ACE, augmenting the £34 million County Council and Local Authority combined total spend on culture. -

Distance The 'straight line' method of measurement only applies for admission purposes. For transport 'walking routes' are used to determine distance. Explanations of these terms can be found in the main booklet. Parents/Family Members A parent is any person who has parental responsibility or care of the child. Where admission arrangements refer to 'parent's attendance at church' it is sufficient for just one parent to attend. 'Family members' include only parents and siblings. Medical/Social/Welfare Where schools have a medical/social/welfare admission criterion then this should take into account the circumstances of the child and the family. Please note the Local Authority information in the main admissions booklet. Looked After and Previously Looked After Children The School Admissions Code [December 2014] states that within the oversubscription criteria, the highest priority must be given to looked after children and children who were looked after, but ceased to be so because they were adopted (or became subject to a residence order or special guardianship order). A 'looked after child' ( 1 ) or a child who was previously looked after but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption( 2 ) child arrangements order (residency order) ( 3 ) or special guardianship order ( 4) . -

Your Community Neighbourhood Plan Survey Lytham St Annes results February 2019 Prepared by Lyndsey Shorrock Senior communications and engagement officer NHS Blackpool and NHS Fylde and Wyre CCGs Executive summary NHS Blackpool and NHS Fylde and Wyre Clinical Commissioning Groups are committed to listening to patients and members of the public to ensure their views and experiences inform quality improvements and commissioning intentions. In late 2018, under the Healthier Fylde Coast partnership, which includes the NHS, local authority, the voluntary, community and faith sector and residents, the CCGs developed a ‘your community neighbourhood plan survey’ to provide public perceptions data in relation to the 10 neighbourhoods across the Fylde coast. The survey asked residents about their community (the place where they live, the surrounding area and the places they use in their daily life, for example, shops, schools and health services). It also asked how neighbourhoods (groups of GP practices, social care, local councils, the voluntary sector and residents, which usually cover populations of between 30,000 and 50,000) can work together to improve health and wellbeing in their community. The survey ran from 16 November to 21 December 2018 and was promoted on social media, the CCGs’ website, via GP practices and through paper surveys in GP surgeries. Patient participation groups helped to distribute and promote the surveys. The survey was broken down into three distinct sections, ‘your community, ‘working together’ and ‘your voice’. For the purposes of this report, the data analysis will focus on the first two sections, with the findings of the third section being used to inform a refresh of the CCGs’ communications and engagement strategy in Spring 2019 and to supplement the findings of the NHS England 360 stakeholder survey. -

Saint Aidan’s Church of England High School Cartgate, Preesall, Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, FY6 ONP Admissions Policy – September 2020-2021 Saint Aidan’s Church of England High School provides for a total of 840 students. The Governors draw attention to the fact that the school is a Church of England Voluntary Aided Comprehensive High School, and that the aim is to secure the admission of pupils regardless of ability. The Governing Body operates a system of equal preferences under which they consider all preferences equally and the Local Authority notifies parents of the result. In the event that there are more applicants than places, after admitting all children with a Statement of Educational Need / Educational, Health and Care Plan naming the school, the Governing Body will allocate places using the criteria below, which are listed in order of priority. The number of places for the year 2020-2021, after consultation with the Local Authority (LA), the Blackburn Diocesan Board of Education and other admission authorities, will be a maximum of 168. The Governors will not place any restriction on children of normal age for Year 7 unless they are advised that the number of children for whom admission is sought is likely to exceed this number. (The normal age for Year 7 requires the child’s date of birth to fall between 1st September 2008 and 31st August 2009). MAKING AN APPLICATION: Applications for admission to the school for September 2020 should be made to the Local Authority.
