The city took the opportunity to also celebrate the facade project completion, which has fueled the future growth of downtown Greenwood, with a ribbon cutting. The city, along with Restore Old Town Greenwood, re- ceived an Indiana Main Street facade grant to revitalize the historic portion of downtown Greenwood in 2015. “Eighteen of the 33 downtown businesses bought in to help us,” said Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers. “They wanted to see these buildings revitalized. We have build- ings that are over 130 years old that have been all redone and brought to what they look like today. I’m here to tell 4. you that this is just the first step in the transformation you will see in downtown Greenwood.
