Press release 29 March 2012 Ministry for Foreign Affairs Ministry of Health and Social Affairs Ewa Björling and Göran Hägglund to take part in launch of market choice analysis On Thursday 29 March, Swecare is presenting its market analysis study, which is based on information from 150 health and medical care companies and organisations, to Minister for Trade Ewa Björling and Minister for Health and Social Affairs Göran Hägglund.
The analysis shows that the health and medical care industry has a very positive view of future foreign ventures and that nearly 40 per cent of the participating companies expect exports to increase by more than 50 per cent over the next three years. This is entirely in line with the Government's efforts to increase External links Swedish exports and to achieve the export vision of doubling exports set by Dr Björling. SweCare "I am, of course, very pleased by these figures. The close link the analysis makes between strongly driven innovation development in Sweden and increased exports is naturally especially interesting, particularly to me in my capacity as a researcher," says Dr Björling.
"Swedish health and medical care has a good reputation around the world and we see increased interest for exports and internationalisation. This is very gratifying," says Mr Hägglund.
The Government has instructed Swecare and the Swedish Trade Council to carry out the analysis to identify relevant markets for internationalisation and exports in health and medical care and social services, and in the areas of medical technology, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. The results achieved by identifying markets where Swedish actors can be even more successful and finding partners for cooperation are also expected to contribute to developing Swedish health and medical care and social services.
Time and place Press lunch and launch, Thursday 29 March at 11.00, Kungsbron 1 in Stockholm.
