Aousserd . Oued Ed-Dahab Population : 145 000 habitants Chef-lieu : Dakhla 12 REGION OUED ED-DAHAB-LAGOUIRA Présentation générale La région de Oued Ed-Dahab-Lagouira est située à l’extrême sud du Royaume du Maroc. Elle est composée de deux provinces (Aousserd et Oued Ed-Dahab) et est constituée de 2 communes urbaines et 11 communes rurales. Le PIB de l’ensemble des régions du sud dont relève Oued Ed-Dahab-Lagouira s’élève à 21 696 millions de DH en 2007, soit 3,5% du PIB national. Par secteur d’activité, cette zone1 se distingue par le secteur de l’« Administration publique générale et sécurité sociale » avec une contribution en valeur qui se situe à 6 517 millions DH, soit une part au niveau national de l’ordre de 13%. La population et l’emploi : La population de la région est estimée à 145 mille habitants en 2009, dont 93 mille résident dans des zones urbaines, soit un taux d’urbanisation de l’ordre de 64,1%. En 2004, la population âgée de moins de 15 ans représente 31,3% de la population de la région. La région de Oued Ed-Dahab-Lagouira relève d’une zone1 qui affiche, en 2009 un taux d’activité de l’ordre de 45,9% et un taux de chômage de 13,7% contre 9,1% au niveau national. L’agriculture : La région est marquée par un taux d’urbanisation relativement élevé. L’agriculture demeure une activité relativement marginale. Cependant, la région est réputée pour son cheptel important notamment les camelins et les caprins. La pêche maritime : La région dispose d’une façade littorale de 667 km, elle est dotée d’un port de pêche, Dakhla. En 2009, la production débarquée via ce port est estimée à 210 421.tonnes, d’une valeur de 441 millions de dirhams. Les poissons pélagiques constituent près de 86% du volume total débarqué dans la région, leur part, dans les recettes ne dépasse pas 28% contre 17% pour les poissons blancs. L’industrie : La région abrite 21 établissements industriels en 2009, soit 0,3% des unités industrielles du pays. Le secteur industriel emploie de façon permanente 178 personnes et génère un chiffre d’affaires de l’ordre de 299 millions de DH. Le tourisme : La région dispose d’une côte de 667 km, des sites archéologiques et naturels, autant d'éléments susceptibles de faire de la région de Oued Ed-Dahab-Lagouira un des pôles touristiques prometteurs du Maroc. La région compte 7 établissements classés dotés d'une capacité de 574 lits en 2009. Elle a enregistré près de 8 839 nuitées touristiques durant la même année.     Global Scholar Study Abroad Program 2020 International Biz Squad-Oujda, Morocco Eligibility and Application Information PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION CAREFULLY Tentative Travel Dates: May 27 - June 9, 2020 (Dates are subject to change based on airfare) Description: Gateway Technical College students will work on an International Biz Squad and collaborate with instructors and students from Ecole Superieure de Technologie (EST) in Oujda, Morocco to address industry issues facing local businesses. Once in country, students will visit the medieval city of Marrakech, and ride a camel through the palm grove stopping at an authentic Berber home. In Casablanca, visit the Hassan II Mosque (the largest Mosque in Africa), and see royal landmarks in the capital city of Rabat. Students will spend the last 6 nights with a host family in Oujda immersing themselves in the captivating culture of Morocco. With EST instructors and students as their guide, they will tour the EST campus, complete the Moroccan Biz Squad project, visit local businesses and visit the Government office in Berkane to learn about Moroccan government and to do an analysis of the public works data center. This program is open to Business and Information Technology students. As part of this experience, participants will be expected to attend and participate in multiple workshops at Gateway. The first workshop will focus on working in a diverse culture. The second workshop will develop the participant’s presentation and communication skills. The third workshop will focus on international business practices. Additional workshops will be determined. The expectation is that participants will collaborate as a team with their peers both at GTC and EST to develop their Biz Squad projects while working on their interpersonal communication skills, learning more about other business disciplines, as well as working to also develop their own technical skills.

Mohammed FAIZ a assuré la coordination des travaux en français et en arabe. 2 Préambule La région du Grand Casablanca, première Métropole économique du Royaume, ne peut échapper à sa destinée de locomotive nationale, ou tout au moins, avec la régionalisation soutenue et attendue, des autres régions du pays, représenter un atout considérable pour le développement territorial du pays. Qui dit locomotive, dit également relever le défi d’arriver à temps aux différentes stations (étapes) programmées (planifiées), selon une démarche concertée et réfléchie visant le développement durable du territoire régional. Il est vrai que la région du Grand Casablanca a fait l’objet d’une multitude d’études et d’analyses autant rétrospectives que prospectives, afin de lui dessiner une feuille de route à la mesure et à la hauteur de la première agglomération du Royaume. En effet, bien avant le protectorat, la ville ancienne de Casablanca existait et avait ses propres modes de vie et de fonctionnement, que les différents plans directeurs ont par la suite essayé d’intégrer afin d’ouvrir la ville à d’autres horizons, orientés plus vers le développement industriel et socio économique, au sein d’un Maroc largement à vocation agricole.

The quality of bathing water is a criterion increasingly demanded by the general public for the choice of its holiday resorts. Main objective of this present study is to find out the status of to find status of bathing water through physicochemical and microbiological examination. Sampling was done from 8 beaches of Kenitra Mehdia, Nations, Rabat-Sale, Harhoura, Temara, Golden Sand, Val D'or and the beach of Skhirate Amphitrite. Bacteriological evaluations were done & presence of feacal Coliforms and/or Streptococci was considered as indicative of faecal pollution. Enumeration of faecal Coliforms and faecal Streptococci was done by filter membrane method on nutrient media Tergitol7 Agar, Litskey, Slanetz & Bartley. In addition to microbiological sampling of water, temperature and pH of the water were measured "in situ". Data related to the tide (high or low) and populations were collected. Regarding bacterial load of beaches in present study it was found that at Mehdia beach, Nations beach, Rabat-Sale beach, Temara beach, Harhoura beach, Sable D’or beach and at Skhirat beach the contamination standard is exceeded in 30% of samples for CF and 20% for SF, 10% for CF and 0% for SF, 100% of the samples for CF and 70% for SF, 50% for CF and in none (0%) for SF, 20% for CF and 10% for SF, 30% for CF and 10% for SF and 40% for CF and 10% for SF respectively.

    Regional and Sectoral Economic Studies Vol. 14-2 (2014) THE PERFORMANCE OF EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM IN MOROCCO: A SPATIAL ANALYSIS IBOURK, Aomar1 AMAGHOUSS, Jabrane2 Abstract Education has been a key factor in the development of countries all over the world and the current differences in living standards are largely due to it. In the immediate post- independence period, Morocco was forced to face several a constraint among which is building an educational system3 that meets the growing needs of the society. Despite all the reforms implemented by the public authorities, the performance of the educational system remains very low (the persistence of illiteracy, the enrolment rates are still very low throughout all levels, high proportion of school drop-outs, lower achievement levels, unemployment among graduates and persistent inequalities). The purpose of this paper is to analyze the performance of the Moroccan educational system from a spatial perspective. L’aquifère profond d’Aïn Béni Mathar est un important réservoir d’eau au Maroc. Il est formé de calcaires dolomitiques du Jurassique et mis en charge sous un recouvrement généralement argilo-marneux d’âge mio-plio-quaternaire. Vu que c’est la seule ressource en eau d’une région connue par son climat aride et la pénurie de ses eaux de surface, la nappe est de plus en plus sollicitée à des fins multiples. Il en résulte une baisse lente mais continue de son niveau piézométrique, constituant ainsi un problème non encore résolu. Les informations sur cette nappe sont encore fragmentaires et insuffisantes, en raison de sa large étendue et de sa profondeur importante. Dans le but d’améliorer la connaissance de cet aquifère, un modèle géologique 3D a été élaboré dans cette étude. Il a été construit à partir des informations fournies par les cartes géologiques et par 174 sondages mécaniques.

Regions, Provinces and Municipalities Maps The shape files of administrative boundaries were provided by e-mail (by AIT ALI Abdelaaziz [[email protected]]) on 16/10/2015. The country was divided into Regions, Provinces and Municipalities. Between 1997 and 2015, Morocco was organized in 16 Regions; afterwards Morocco administers officially 12 Regions. The Figure below represents these shape files. Morocco Regions 2. Road Network Map The road network data were taken from OpenStreetMap (http://www.openstreetmap.org/). This is a free and editable map built by volunteers and released with an open-content license. The data from OpenStreetMap were downloaded from Geofabrik’s free download server. (http://download.geofabrik.de/index.html). The road network in OpenStreetMap is classified by a tag named “highway” that is any road, route, way, or thoroughfare on land which connects one location to another and has been paved or otherwise improved to allow travel by some conveyance, including motorized vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians, horse riders, and others (but not trains). The table below (extracted from http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Map_Features) describes how the road network is classified by the OpenStreetMap. The objective of this article is to extend the discussion on regional disparities, by focusing on the socio-economic dimensions, we have opted for unidimensional statistical approaches by highlighting the distribution and dispersion of a set of socio-economic indicators covering education and employment, health, housing conditions and poverty and living standards; and multidimensional techniques that allowed us to design a synthetic regional development indicator, classify the regions according to the level of development, highlight the gaps and finally draw a development map in Morocco.
