Mycosphere 6(3), 290–326, Doi 10.5943/mycosphere/6/3/7 Abstract The Dothideomycetes include several genera whose ascomata can be considered as apothecia and thus would be grouped as discomycetes. Most genera are grouped in the family Patellariaceae, but also Agrynnaceae and other families. The Hysteriales include genera having hysterioid ascomata and can be confused with species in Patellariaceae with discoid apothecia if the opening is wide enough. In this study, genera of the family Patellariaceae were re-examined and characterized based on morphological examination. As a result of this study the genera Baggea, Endotryblidium, Holmiella, Hysteropatella, Lecanidiella, Lirellodisca, Murangium, Patellaria, Poetschia, Rhizodiscina, Schrakia, Stratisporella and Tryblidaria are retained in the family Patellariaceae. The genera Banhegyia, Pseudoparodia and Rhytidhysteron are excluded because of differing morphology and/or molecular data. -

A Review of Lichenology in Saint Lucia Including a Lichen Checklist
A REVIEW OF LICHENOLOGY IN SAINT LUCIA INCLUDING A LICHEN CHECKLIST HOWARD F. FOX1 AND MARIA L. CULLEN2 Abstract. The lichenological history of Saint Lucia is reviewed from published literature and catalogues of herbarium specimens. 238 lichens and 2 lichenicolous fungi are reported. Of these 145 species are known only from single localities in Saint Lucia. Important her- barium collections were made by Alexander Evans, Henry and Frederick Imshaug, Dag Øvstedal, Emmanuël Sérusiaux and the authors. Soufrière is the most surveyed botanical district for lichens. Keywords. Barc., 50: 5-434 Barcelona, 20065 CONTRIBUCIÓN AL ESTUDIO DE LOS ASCOMICETES BITUNICADOS DE CATALUÑA Dolores SIERRA LÓPEZ 1 ABSTRACT Contribution to the study of Bitunicate Ascomycetes in Catalonia (NE Spain). Loculoascomycetes refers to fungi with ascostromatic ascomata with ascolocular ontogeny, bitunicate asci and generally septate spores. The principal aim of this study is to set up a floristic catalogue of the non-lichenized and non-lichenicolous bitunicate Ascomycetes (Loculoascomycetes) of Catalonia. The original research has been based on the direct or through collaborators prospection of 282 localities, 243 of which are situated in Catalonia, 8 in the Balearic Islands and the rest belongs to Iberian Peninsula. All specimens were analysed by standard techniques with stereoscopic and light microscopes. Of all the studied taxa we offer an original macro- and microscopic description, and original iconography. For each species is given information about habitats where it occurs, chorology, taxonomy and references to important literature. As a result, 2090 specimens were added to the BCN herbarium. Based on the observed characters and different bibliographical source, we show for each taxonomic category of the catalogue a descriptive outline, and a dichotomic key of genera is appended. The taxonomy of the bitunicate Ascomycetes has undergone many changes and in this paper we follow Eriksson et al. (2004). The floristic catalogue includes 268 taxa: Class Arthoniomycetes, order Arthoniales (2 taxa). Class Chaetothyriomycetes, order Chaetothyriales (5). Class Dothideomycetes, order Capnodiales (5), order Do- thideales (4), order Hysteriales (9), order Patellariales (4), order Pleosporales (132). Dothideomycetes et Chaetothyriomycetes, families incertae sedis (79), genera incertae sedis (14). -

During the informal Spring Micromyco 2019 meeting, we tested how newly obtained molecular barcodes of common or poorly known saprotrophic microfungi from more or less targeted collec- tions may be useful for identification and taxonomic studies. Our aim was to obtain DNA sequences of fungi enabling their phylogenetic placement and routine identification in the future using molecu- lar barcoding. As a result, DNA of four species was sequenced for the first time, among them Leptosphaeria acuta, for which a new synonym L. urticae is proposed. The new combination Koorchaloma melaloma is proposed for a species previously known as Volutella melaloma and its new synonym is K.
