I first met Stuart in 2008 when he and his wife Jan came to see my litter of puppies. Stuart had wanted a Deerhound for many years and had read and re- searched just about every book and article he could on them. He waited for retirement before getting a pup and was thrilled to have Matahari Monsoon (Storm) join the family in 2009. Working from the measurements in clay

The piece being cast: we closed the leg pieces with internal steals and then strapped the side pieces in to work on all the seams through the neck. Then we closed the head and worked on those seams through a small piece in the tummy. The steals that run through the legs could then be dropped into holes in steel plate, welded and capped. The first layer of silicone after the piece was finished in clay. The complete mould, all 20 pieces! We then sand blasted the piece to remove all the lubricant, applied the dye oxide before polishing and waxing with natural bees wax. Then we took her for a walk!
