Controversy, however, abounds regarding the online version of the Friday Prayer. In Islamic law, this ritual is wajib (mandatory) for male Muslims. During the pandemic, some Muslim organisations and individual preachers have speeded up the use of such platforms as a way to communicate with people and to continue with religious practices among the umma. • Among religious rituals that have shifted online are the virtual tahlil (praying and remembering dead person), silaturahim (visiting each other) during Eid al-Fitr, haul (commemorating the death of someone), and tarawih (night prayer during Ramadan). -

September 1999 ABSTRACT This thesis aims to investigate the significance of Divine Love in the Islamic tradition with reference to Sufis who used the medium of Arabic to communicate their ideas. Divine Love means the mutual love between God and man. It is commonly accepted that the Sufis were the forerunners in writing about Divine Love. However, there is a relative paucity of literature regarding the details of their conceptions of Love. Therefore, this attempt can be considered as one of the first of its kind in this field. The first chapter will attempt to define the nature of love from various perspectives, such as, psychology, Islamic philosophy and theology. The roots of Divine Love in relation to human love will be explored in the context of the ideas that were prevalent amongst the Sufi authors regarded as authorities; for example, al-Qushayri, al-Hujwiri and al-Kalabadhi. The second chapter investigates the origins Of Sufism with a view to establishing the role that Divine Love played in this. The etymological derivations of the term Sufi will be referred to as well as some early Sufi writings. It is an undeniable fact that the Qur'an and tladith are the bedrocks of the Islamic religion, and all Muslims seek to justify their ideas with reference to them. -

Introducción El presente estudio intenta presentar a una nueva luz la situa ción histórica, vital, cultural y aún afectiva de la trágica casta de los moriscos españoles en los años que sigüen al final de la Reconquis ta en 1492. La situación de estos moriscos ha sido generalmente explorada por historiadores que se basan en fuentes, crónicas y documentos que ofrecen el punto de vista cristiano: los Archivos de la Inquisición, los documentos de la Real Academia de la Histo ria y crónicas y documentos de reinos, catedrales y monasterios. Nuestro estudio, por su parte, tendrá como fuente principal la literatura aljamiada, es decir, una fuente morisca. Esto nos permi tira una visión un tanto diferente de la tradicional, ya que estare mos escuchando el punto de vista de los mismos moriscos que pro tagonizaron ese episodio tan completo, tan difícil, pero tan fe cundo, de la historia española de los siglos XV, XVI y XVII. Para el año de 1977, se graduó con honores de la Universidad de Puerto Rico donde obtuvo el grado de Bachiller en Artes con concentración en Psicología. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, sedangkan analisis data yang digunakan adalah content analysis yakni sebagai sebuah upaya menganalisis substansi pemikiran maqāşid al- sharīah, kemudian dikorelasikan dengan konteks kehidupan masyarakat sekarang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teori maqāşid al-sharīah yang digagas oleh Imam al-Syatibi telah menghadirkan shariah dalam wajahnya yang elastis. Maqāşid al-sharīah telah mentransformasikan teori-teori shariah ke dalam nilai-nilai kemanusiaan universal, seperti kemaslahatan, keadilan dan kesetaraan dalam kehidupan umat Islam. Hal ini setidaknya bisa dilihat dalam dua hal: pertama, maqāşid al-sharīah sebagai metode pengembangan hukum Islam. Pengembangan teori-teori maqashid al-shariah mengilhami filsafat hukum Islam dan menjadi pangkal berpikir serta analisis yang pokok untuk pengembangan pemikiran hukum Islam pada era globalisasi dan perubahan sosial sekarang ini.
